Psalms 107
- [Psa 107:1] O Lord, Our Father, Thanks To Thee
Lord, our Father, thanks to Thee
In this new year we render,
For every evil had to flee
Before Thee, our Defender.
Our life was nourished, we were fed
With rich supplies of daily bread,
And peace reigned in our borders.Lord Jesus Christ, our thanks to Thee
In this new year we render;
Thy reign hath kept Thy people free,
Hath shown Thy mercies tender.
Thou hast redeemed us with Thy blood,
Thou art our Joy, our only Good,
In life and death our Savior.Lord Holy Ghost, our thanks to Thee
In this new year we render,
For Thou hast led our eyes to see
Thy truth in all its splendor
And thus enkindled from above
Within our hearts true faith and love
And other Christian virtues.Our faithful God, we cry to Thee:
Still bless us with Thy favor,
Blot out all our iniquity,
And hide our sins forever.
Grant us a happy, good new year
And, when the hour of death draws near,
A peaceful, blest departure.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:1] O Praise The Lord, For He Is Good
O praise the Lord, for He is good,
His mercies still endure;
Thus let His ransomed testify,
From all their foes secure.
He has redeemed His captive saints
From adversaries’ hands,
Has gathered them and brought them back
In peace from hostile lands.They wandered in the wilderness,
By want and hunger pressed;
In trouble when they cried to God,
He saved their souls distressed.
He made the way before them plain,
Himself became their Guide;
He brought them to a city strong
Wherein they might abide.O praise the Lord, ye sons of men,
For all His goodness shown;
O praise Him for the wondrous works
To you He has made known.
The longing soul that turns to Him
He fully satisfies;
He fills with good each hungering one
That for His mercy cries.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:1] Praise The Lord, For He Is Good
Praise the Lord, for He is good,
For His mercies ever sure
From eternity have stood,
To eternity endure.
Let His ransomed people raise
Songs to their Redeemer’s praise.From captivity released,
From the south and from the north,
From the west and from the east,
In His love He brought them forth,
Ransomed out of every land
From the adversary’s hand.Wandering in the wilderness,
Far they roamed the desert way,
Found not settled dwelling place
Where in peace secure to stay,
Till with thirst and hunger pressed
Courage sank within their breast.To Jehovah then they cried
In their trouble, and He saved;
He Himself became their Guide,
Led them to the rest they craved
By a pathway straight and sure,
To a city strong, secure.Sons of men, awake to praise
God the Lord who reigns above,
Gracious in His works and ways,
Wondrous in redeeming love;
Let them all thank offerings bring,
Celebrate His deeds and sing.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:1] Thank And Praise Jehovah’s Name
Thank and Praise Jehovah’s Name;
For His mercies, firm and sure,
From eternity the same
To eternity endure.Let the ransomed thus rejoice,
Gathered out of every land,
As the people of His choice,
Plucked from the destroyer’s hand.Let the elders praise the Lord,
Him let all the people praise,
When they meet with one accord,
In His courts on holy days.Praise Him, ye who know His love;
Praise Him from the depths beneath;
Praise Him in the heights above;
Praise your Maker all that breathe.For His truth and mercy stand,
Past, and present, and to be,
Like the years of His right hand—
Like His own eternity.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:2] Redeemed
Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child and forever I am.Refrain

Redeemed, redeemed,
His child and forever I am.Redeemed, and so happy in Jesus,
No language my rapture can tell;
I know that the light of His presence
With me doth continually dwell.Refrain
I think of my blessèd Redeemer,
I think of Him all the day long:
I sing, for I cannot be silent;
His love is the theme of my song.Refrain
I know I shall see in His beauty
The King in whose law I delight;
Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps,
And giveth me songs in the night.Refrain
I know there’s a crown that is waiting,
In yonder bright mansion for me,
And soon, with the spirits made perfect,
At home with the Lord I shall be.Refrain

Break forth, break forth, O joyful heart,
And make His goodness known,
Who all thy life, though undeserved,
Such love to thee has shown.Refrain
Break forth, break forth, O joyful heart,
Break forth, no longer silent be;
Break forth, break forth in grateful praise
To Him Who came to ransom Thee.’Twas Jesus sought my wand’ring soul,
And with a shepherd’s care
He brought me kindly to His fold,
And still protects me there.Refrain
He is my Advocate with God,
My Savior and my Friend,
His mercies new with every morn
Like balmy showers descend.Refrain
My soul shall magnify the Lord,
My voice His love proclaim,
And every power within me join
To bless and praise His Name.Refrain

Wondrous it seemeth to me
Jesus so gracious should be,
Mercy revealing, comforting, healing,
Blessing a sinner like me.Refrain
Is it not wonderful, is it not wonderful
Jesus so gracious should be?
Yes, it is wonderful, strange and so wonderful
That He should pardon and save even me!Heart of mine never could know
Jesus such peace could bestow,
Till the dear Savior showed me His favor,
Cleansed my heart whiter than snow.Refrain
Once I was full of all sin,
Now thro’ the blood I am clean;
Willing to save me, pardon He gave me,
And I am happy within.Refrain
He doth my new heart control,
Cleansing and keeping me whole,
Banishing sadness, with joy and gladness
Filling and thrilling my soul.Refrain
Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:9] Satisfied
All my life I had a longing
For a drink from some clear spring,
That I hoped would quench the burning
Of the thirst I felt within.Refrain
Hallelujah! I have found Him
Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longings,
Through His blood I now am saved.Feeding on the husks around me,
Till my strength was almost gone,
Longed my soul for something better,
Only still to hunger on.Refrain
Poor I was, and sought for riches,
Something that would satisfy,
But the dust I gathered round me
Only mocked my soul’s sad cry.Refrain
Well of water, ever springing,
Bread of life so rich and free,
Untold wealth that never faileth,
My Redeemer is to me.Refrain
Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:9] Satisfied With Jesus
Satisfied with Jesus is my soul today;
I am satisfied, fully satisfied.
I have been redeemed, and now my soul can say,
“I am fully satisfied.”Refrain
My soul is full of joy, and peace,
To praise my God I cannot cease.
He heard me when to Him I cried,
And now my soul is satisfied.Once I walked in darkness, under sin’s control;
Now I’m satisfied, fully satisfied.
Since the light from Heaven streams into my soul,
“I am fully satisfied.”Refrain
Satisfied with Jesus, now my soul can sing,
“I am satisfied, fully satisfied.”
Happy in the love of Christ my Lord and King,
“I am fully satisfied.”Refrain
Satisfied with Jesus, oh, the peace, how sweet!
I am satisfied, fully satisfied.
Trusting in the promise till His face I greet;
“I am fully satisfied.”Refrain

Men who walk in folly’s way,
And to evil turn aside,
Find that sorrow will repay
Those who wisdom’s laws have defied;
Down to death’s dark portals led,
They abhor their daily bread.To Jehovah then they cry
In their trouble and He saves,
Sends compassionate reply
Gives the health their spirit craves,
Rescues them with gracious aid
From the snares their folly led.Sons of men, awake to praise
God the Lord Who reigns above,
Gracious in His works and ways,
Wondrous in redeeming love;
Let them all thank-offerings bring,
Celebrate His deeds, and sing.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:11] Rebels, Who Had Dared To Show
Rebels, who had dared to show
Proud contempt of God Most High
Bound in iron and in woe,
Shades of death and darkness nigh,
Humbled low with toil and pain,
Fell, and looked for help in vain.To Jehovah when they cried
In their trouble, and He saved,
Threw the prison open wide
Where they lay to death enslaved,
Bade the gloomy shadows flee,
Broke their bonds and set them free.Sons of men, awake to praise
God the Lord Who reigns above,
Gracious in His works and ways,
Wondrous in redeeming love;
Longing souls He satisfies,
Hungry hearts with good supplies.When His righteous judgments come,
Strong to bless and to destroy,
All iniquity is dumb,
All the righteous sing for joy;
Who God’s dealings wisely heed,
In His works His mercy read.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:16] Lift Up Your Heads, Ye Gates Of Brass
Lift up your heads, ye gates of brass,
Ye bars of iron, yield,
And let the King of Glory pass;
The cross is in the field.
That banner, brighter than the star
That leads the train of night,
Shines on their march, and guides from far
His servants to the fight.A holy war those servants wage;
Mysteriously at strife;
The powers of heaven and hell engage
For more than death or life.
Ye armies of the living God,
His sacramental host,
Where hallowed footsteps never trod
Take your appointed post.Though few and small and weak your bands,
Strong in your Captain’s strength
Go to the conquest of all lands;
All must be His at length.
Those spoils at His victorious feet
You shall rejoice to lay,
And lay yourselves, as trophies meet,
In His great judgment day.O fear not, faint not, halt not now;
Quit you like men, be strong!
To Christ shall all the nations bow,
And sing with you this song:
“Uplifted are the gates of brass,
The bars of iron yield;
Behold the King of Glory pass;
The cross hath won the field!”Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:20] Stand By The Bible
We’ll stand by the Bible, God’s message to man,
Revealing His love in Redemption’s great plan;
It tells how death entered with sin and the fall,
Of life freely offered through Jesus to all.Refrain
Stand by the Bible, walk by the Bible,
Teach by the Bible, revealing God’s plan;
Stand by the Bible, study the Bible,
Live by the Bible, God’s message to man.No book so abounding in wonderful truth,
No guide so unerring for childhood and youth,
No counsel so needed by man in his bloom,
No comfort so sweet on the verge of the tomb.Refrain
Through ages when faith spurned the fetters of might,
It shone like a star on the bosom of night;
Its word was the rule of the millions who bled,
Its hope was their stay when the last prayer was said.Refrain
We’ll follow thy teachings, blest word from above,
We’ll live by thy pattern of infinite love,
Believing, obeying, and watching with prayer,
Till grace shall for Heaven our spirits prepare.Refrain
Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:22] Come With Rejoicing
Come with rejoicing, come with delight,
Nature in waking, glad and bright;
Hearts overflowing gather today,
Fill us with rapture, Lord we pray.Refrain
Praise our Redeemer, tell of His love,
Praise our Redeemer, God above;
Tell of His mercy, boundless and free,
None can protect us, Lord, like Thee;
Tell of His mercy, boundless and free,
None can protect us, Lord, like Thee.Guarded from danger, sheltered and blest,
Under His banner, calm, we rest,
Come we before Him, come with a song,
Tell how He leads us all day long.Refrain
Oh! what a Savior, gracious to all,
Oh! how His blessings round us fall,
Gently to comfort, kindly to cheer,
Sleeping or waking, God is near.Refrain
Still may His mercy tenderly flow,
Still may He guide us here below;
Then when our journey safely is past,
May we be gathered home at last.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:23] O That The Race Of Men Would Raise
O that the race of men would raise
Their voices to their heav’nly King,
And with the sacrifice of praise
The glories of Jehovah sing!
Ye navigators of the sea,
Your course on ocean’s tides who keep,
And there Jehovah’s wonders see,
His wonders in the briny deep!He speaks; conflicting whirlwinds fly;
The waves in swelling torrents flow;
They mount, aspire to heaven on high;
They sink, as if to hell below:
Their souls with terror melt away;
They stagger as if drunk with wine
Their skill is vain, to Thee they pray;
O, save them, Energy divine!He stays the storm; the waves subside;
Their hearts with rapture are inspired;
Soft breezes waft them o’er the tide,
In gladness, to their port desired:
O that mankind the song would raise,
Jehovah’s goodness to proclaim!
Assembled nations shout His praise,
Assembled elders bless His Name!Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:23] They That Traffic On The Sea
They that traffic on the sea,
While unceasing watch they keep,
See Jehovah’s majesty
And His wonders in the deep;
For He bids the storm-wind fly,
Lifting ocean’s waves on high.By the billows heav’nward tossed,
Down to dreadful depths again,
Troubled much, their courage lost,
Reeling, they like drunken men
Find their skill and power o’erthrown;
None can save but God alone.To Jehovah then they cry
In their trouble, and He saves,
Drives the darkness from the sky,
Calms the storm and stills the waves,
Makes their sad forebodings cease,
To their haven guides in peace.Sons of men, awake to praise
God the Lord Who reigns above,
Gracious in His works and ways,
Wondrous in redeeming love;
Praise Him where the people meet,
Praise Him in the elder’s seat.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:29] Haven Of Rest, The
My soul in sad exile was out on life’s sea,
So burdened with sin and distressed,
Till I heard a sweet voice, saying,
“Make Me your choice”;
And I entered the “Haven of Rest”!Refrain
I’ve anchored my soul in the “Haven of Rest,”
I’ll sail the wide seas no more;
The tempest may sweep over wild, stormy, deep,
In Jesus I’m safe evermore.I yielded myself to His tender embrace,
In faith taking hold of the Word,
My fetters fell off, and I anchored my soul;
The “Haven of Rest” is my Lord.Refrain
The song of my soul, since the Lord made me whole,
Has been the old story so blest,
Of Jesus, who’ll save whosoever will have
A home in the “Haven of Rest.”Refrain
How precious the thought that we all may recline,
Like John, the belovèd so blest,
On Jesus’ strong arm, where no tempest can harm,
Secure in the “Haven of Rest.”Refrain
O come to the Savior, He patiently waits
To save by His power divine;
Come, anchor your soul in the “Haven of Rest,”
And say, “My Belovèd is mine.”Refrain
Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:29] I Know Not If Or Dark Or Bright
I know not if or dark or bright
Shall be my lot;
If that wherein my hopes delight
Be best or not.It may be mine to drag for years
Toil’s heavy chain,
Or day and night my meat be tears
On bed of pain.Dear faces may surround my health
With smiles and glee,
Or I may dwell alone, and mirth
Be strange to me.My bark is wafted to the strand
By breath divine,
And on its helm there rests a hand
Other than mine.One who was known in storms to sail
I have on board;
Above the roaring of the gale
I hear my Lord.Safe to the land! safe to the land!
The end is this,
And then with Him go hand in hand,
Far into bliss.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:29] My Pilot Is Jesus
I’m on life’s ocean, homeward bound,
My Pilot is Jesus;
Where many mansions will be found,
My Pilot is Jesus.Refrain
My Pilot is Jesus,
My Pilot is Jesus;
Oh, what care I though waves are high;
My Pilot is Jesus.The old ship Zion is my boat,
My Pilot is Jesus;
In every storm she’ll safely float,
My Pilot is Jesus.Refrain
No hiding rock or treacherous shoal,
My Pilot is Jesus.
Can wreck me ere I reach my goal,
My Pilot is Jesus.Refrain
He calms the raging winds at will,
My Pilot is Jesus;
He speaks, and lashing waves are still,
My Pilot is Jesus.Refrain
Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:29] One By One, We’re Passing Over
One by one we’re passing over,
One by one we cross the tide;
Soon we’ll reach the peaceful harbor,
Rest at last on Canaan’s side.Refrain
Rest at last, when earth is past,
Rest at last on Canaan’s shore;
Rest at last, when earth is past,
With our loved ones gone before.There in that bright land of beauty,
With the loved ones gone before,
We will meet in blest reunion,
Meet again to part no more.Refrain
Then dispel! thou darkening shadow!
Shine upon us, light above!
Take away the sting of parting,
Bring us soon to those we love.Refrain
But if we must wait and suffer,
Ease the hurt, and soothe the pain;
Make us know that in the daybreak
We shall see our loved again.Refrain
Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:29] Saved From The Wreck
Adrift on the waters, so dark and so cold,
Afar from the beautiful city of gold,
A vessel is sinking, for heavy the gale,
The cable is broken, and tattered each sail.Refrain
Poor child of the wreck, see the lifeboat is near,
A sweet voice is heard, for the Master is here;
He walks every billow, controls every wave,
’Tis Jesus, King Jesus, “the mighty to save.”Oh, I was the sinner alone on the sea,
But love’s blessèd signal were floating for me;
Though thunders were rolling, and billows at strife,
Lo, Jesus was calling, “escape for thy life.”Refrain
I stepped in the life boat, provided for me,
And Jesus my Pilot, my Captain to be;
His bosom my refuge, my “haven of rest.”
I’m rescued from shipwreck, so happy and blest.Refrain
Life’s turbulent surges are kissed into peace,
The beacons are shining, and songs never cease;
Fair moonbeams, bright sunshine, illumine the tide,
While onward to glory we’ll joyfully glide.Refrain
Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:30] As Near The Wished For Port We Draw
As near the wished for port we draw
We lift our hearts in praise to Thee,
Almighty Father, loving Lord,
Our Pilot on the troubled sea.By Thy good care in peace we come,
From fire and foe securely kept,
And after tempest, at Thy word,
The waves have laid them down and slept.As Thou hast giv’n us outward calm,
So, Lord, within us may there be
A peace divine, a peace in Him,
Through Whom alone we live to Thee.Give us more light, direct our course,
Cleanse us from guile, our hearts renew;
Let not dark clouds of sin shut out
The star of Jesus from our view.And then, our long life voyage o’er,
And past the perils of the sea,
Receive us on the blissful shore,
To everlasting rest with Thee.To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
The God Whom Heav’n and earth adore,
Be glory as it was of old,
Is now, and shall be evermore.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Psa 107:33] Springs And Streams No Longer Bless
Springs and streams no longer bless
All the dry and thirsty land;
Fertile fields in verdant dress
God converts to desert sand;
For that they who dwell therein
Turn to wickedness and sin.Once again the waters well,
All the desert blossoms fair;
There He makes the hungry dwell,
There a city they prepare,
Plant their vines and sow their fields,
And the earth her increase yields.Now He blesses them indeed,
They are greatly multiplied;
On the hills their cattle feed,
Fast increasing, spreading wide;
Then again they are brought low
Through oppression, grief, and woe.His contempt the princes taste:
Driven out, they helpless fly,
Wandering in the trackless waste;
But He lifts the needy high,
Where no evil shall annoy,
And with children gives him joy.When His righteous judgments come,
Strong to bless and to destroy,
All iniquity is dumb,
All the righteous sing for joy;
Who Jehovah wisely heed,
In His works His mercy read.Play source: Cyberhymnal
