Proverbs 3
- [Pro 3:1] He Liveth Long Who Liveth Well
He liveth long who liveth well;
All other life is short and vain;
He liveth longest who can tell
Of living most for heavenly gain.He liveth long who liveth well;
All else is being flung away;
He liveth longest who can tell
Of true things truly done each day.Be what thou seemest; live thy creed;
Hold up to earth the torch divine:
Be what thou prayest to be made;
Let the great Master’s steps be thine.Fill up each hour with what will last;
Buy up the moments as they go;
The life above, when this is past,
Is the ripe fruit of life below.Sow love, and taste its fruitage pure;
Sow peace, and reap its harvest bright;
Sow sunbeams on the rock and moor,
And find a harvest-home of light.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Pro 3:3] Loyalty Unto Christ
“Loyalty unto Christ” the trumpet now is sounding,
And the echoes answer from the fields of sin;
Nations are awaking, idol thrones are shaking,
For the great millennium is coming in.
Like a mighty army,
The heralds of the cross are spreading over land and sea.
Bearing through the darkness,
The light that leadeth to salvation full and free.Refrain
Long and loud, “Loyalty unto Christ” we sing;
Till every human tongue shall hear His praises sung!
Let the hills, valleys and desert places ring,
With “Loyalty unto Christ, our Lord and King.”Loyalty, faith and works, in holy consecration,
Shall the scattered nations unto Him restore;
Then the world shall own Him, and with joy enthrone Him,
King of kings and Lord of lords forevermore.
See the darkness lifting!
The Gospel light of truth is spreading to the perfect day!
Clouds are backward drifting!
Renew endeavor! for the King prepare the way!Refrain
“Loyalty unto Christ!” O what a mighty power,
Were the hosts of God united in His Name!
Then would angels greet us, Christ Himself would meet us,
And baptize us with the Pentecostal flame.
Then would come the triumph,
And Christ be known and loved,
His praise be sung from shore to shore;
Earth would then, in glory,
Become the kingdom of the Lord forevermore.Refrain

Sailor, though the darkness gathers,
Though the cold waves surge and moan,
Trust thy bark to God’s great mercy,
Falter not; sail on, sail on.Refrain
Sailing into port, what matter,
Drooping sail or shattered mast?
Glory, glory fills the harbor,
There we’ll anchor safe at last.Sailor, though with streamers flying,
Yonder proud ship mounts the foam,
And with bands of music playing,
Gains the port and welcome home.Refrain
Sailor, though the lightning flashes,
Though thy sails be rent and torn,
Peace shall come on Hope’s bright pinions,
And deliverance with the morn.Refrain

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
This is God’s gracious command;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
So shall you dwell in the land.Refrain
Trust in the Lord, O troubled soul,
Rest in the arms of His care;
Whatever your lot, it mattereth not,
For nothing can trouble you there;
Trust in the Lord, O troubled soul,
Nothing can trouble you there.Trust in the Lord who ruleth all,
Seeeth all things as they are,
Be it a birdling in its nest,
Or yonder uttermost star.Refrain
Trust in the Lord—His eye will guide
All thro’ your pathway ahead,
He hath redeemed and He will keep,
Trust Him and be not afraid.Refrain

Lead us, O Father, in the paths of peace:
Without Thy guiding hand we go astray,
And doubts appall, and sorrows still increase;
Lead us through Christ, the true and living Way.Lead us, O Father, in the paths of truth:
Unhelped by Thee, in error’s name we grope,
While passion stains, and folly dims our youth,
And age comes on, uncheered by faith or hope.Lead us, O Father, in the paths of right:
Blindly we stumble when we walk alone,
Involved in shadows of a darksome night;
Only with Thee we journey safely on.Lead us, O Father, to Thy heavenly rest,
However rough and steep the path may be,
Through joy or sorrow, as Thou deemest best,
Until our lives are perfected in Thee.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Pro 3:6] Leader Of Faithful Souls
Leader of faithful souls, and Guide
Of all who travel to the sky,
Come, and with us, even us, abide,
Who would on Thee alone rely;
On Thee alone our spirits stay
While held in life’s uneven sway.We’ve no abiding city here,
But seek a city out of sight;
Thither our steady course we steer,
Aspiring to the plains of light,
Jerusalem, the saints’ abode,
Whose founder is the living God.Through Thee, who all our sins hast borne,
Freely and graciously forgiven,
With songs to Zion we return,
Contending for our native heaven,
That palace of our glorious King,
We find it nearer while we sing.Raised by the breath of love divine,
We urge our way with strength renewed,
The Church of the first-born to join,
We travel to the mount of God;
With joy upon our heads arise,
And meet our Captain in the skies.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Pro 3:9] Fair Waved The Golden Corn
Fair waved the golden corn,
In Canaan’s pleasant land,
When full of joy, some shining morn,
Went forth the reaper band.To God so good and great
Their cheerful thanks they pour;
Then carry to His temple gate
The choicest of their store.Like Israel, Lord, we give
Our earliest fruits to Thee,
And pray that, long as we shall live,
We may Thy children be.Thine is our youthful prime,
And life and all its powers,
Be with us in our morning time,
And bless our evening hours.In wisdom let us grow,
As years and strength are given,
That we may serve Thy Church below,
And join Thy saints in Heaven.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Pro 3:9] Give Of Your Best To The Master
Give of your best to the Master;
Give of the strength of your youth.
Throw your soul’s fresh, glowing ardor
Into the battle for truth.
Jesus has set the example,
Dauntless was He, young and brave.
Give Him your loyal devotion;
Give Him the best that you have.Refrain
Give of your best to the Master;
Give of the strength of your youth.
Clad in salvation’s full armor,
Join in the battle for truth.Give of your best to the Master;
Give Him first place in your heart.
Give Him first place in your service;
Consecrate every part.
Give, and to you will be given;
God His beloved Son gave.
Gratefully seeking to serve Him,
Give Him the best that you have.Refrain
Give of your best to the Master;
Naught else is worthy His love.
He gave Himself for your ransom,
Gave up His glory above.
Laid down His life without murmur,
You from sin’s ruin to save.
Give Him your heart’s adoration;
Give Him the best that you have.Refrain

How blest the matron, who, endued
With holy zeal and fortitude,
Has won through grace a saintly fame,
And owns a dear and honored name.Such holy love inflamed her breast
She would not seek on earth her rest,
But, strong in faith and patience, trod
The narrow way that leads to God.She learned, through fasting, to control
The flesh that weigheth down the soul,
And then, by prayer’s sweet food sustained,
To seek the joys she now has gained.O Christ, from Whom all virtue springs,
Who only doest wondrous things,
To Thee, the King of saints, we pray,
Accept and bless Thy flock today.All praise to God the Father be,
All praise, eternal Son, to Thee,
Whom with the Spirit we adore
For ever and for evermore.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Pro 3:13] Happy The Man That Finds The Grace
Happy the man that finds the grace,
The blessing of God’s chosen race,
The wisdom coming from above,
The faith that sweetly works by love.Happy beyond description he
Who knows: The Savior died for me;
The gift unspeakable obtains,
And heavenly understanding gains.Wisdom divine! Who tells the price
Of wisdom’s costly merchandise;
Wisdom to silver we prefer,
And gold is dross compared to her.Her hands are filled with length of days,
True riches, and immortal praise,
Riches of Christ, on all bestowed,
And honor that descends from God.To purest joys she all invites,
Chaste, holy, spiritual delights;
Her ways are ways of pleasantness,
And all her flowery paths are peace.Happy the man who wisdom gains,
Thrice happy who his Guest retains!
He owns, and shall for ever own,
Wisdom, and Christ, and Heaven are one.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Pro 3:13] O Happy Is The Man Who Hears
O happy is the man who hears
Instruction’s warning voice;
And who celestial Wisdom makes
His early, only choice.For she has treasures greater far
Than east or west unfold;
And her rewards more precious are
Than all their stores of gold.In her right hand she holds to view
A length of happy days;
Riches with splendid honors joined
Are what her left displays.She guides the young with innocence,
In pleasure’s paths to tread,
A crown of glory she bestows
Upon the hoary head.According as her labors rise,
So her rewards increase;
Her ways are ways of pleasantness,
And all her paths are peace.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Pro 3:24] Jesu, The World’s Redeeming Lord
Jesu, the world’s redeeming Lord,
The Father’s co-eternal Word,
Of light invisible true Light,
Thine Israel’s Keeper day and night.Our great Creator and our Guide,
Who times and seasons dost divide,
Refresh at night with quiet rest,
Our limbs by daily toil oppressed.That while in this frail house of clay
A little longer here we stay,
Our flesh in Thee may sweetly sleep,
Our souls with Thee their vigils keep.We pray Thee, while we dwell below,
Preserve us from our ghostly foe;
Nor let his wiles victorious be
O’er them that are redeemed by Thee.O Lord of all, with us abide
In this our joyful Eastertide;
From every weapon death can wield
Thine own redeemed forever shield.All praise be Thine, O risen Lord,
From death to endless life restored;
All praise to God the Father be,
And Holy Ghost eternally.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [Pro 3:34] Though Lowly Here Our Lot
Though lowly here our lot may be,
High work have we to do,
In faith and trust to follow Him
Whose lot was lowly, too.Our lives, enriched with gentle thoughts
And loving deeds, may be
A stream that still the nobler grows,
The nearer to the sea.To duty firm, to conscience true,
However tried and pressed,
In God’s clear sight high work we do,
If we but do our best.Thus may we make the lowliest lot
With rays of glory bright;
Thus may we turn a crown of thorns
Into a crown of light.Play source: Cyberhymnal
