  Let all on earth their voices raise, Re-echoing Heav’n’s triumphant praise To Him, who gave th’apostles grace To run on earth their glorious race. Thou, at Whose word they bore the light Of Gospel truth o’er heathen night, To us that heav’nly light impart, To glad our eyes and cheer our heart. Thou, at Whose will to them was giv’n To bind and loose in earth and Heav’n, Our chains unbind, our sins undo, And in our hearts Thy grace renew. Thou, in Whose might they spake the word Which cured disease and health restored, To us its healing power prolong, Support the weak, confirm the strong. And when the thrones are set on high And judgment’s awful hour draws nigh, Then, Lord, with them pronounce us blest, And take us to Thine endless rest.

  Thou, Lord, hast power to heal, And Thou wilt quickly aid, For Thou dost deeply feel The stripes upon us laid: Thou who wast wounded by the rod Uplifted in the hand of God. Send speedy help, we pray, To him who ailing lies, That from his couch he may With thankful heart arise; Through prayers which all availing find Thine ear, O Lover of mankind. O blinded are our eyes, And all are held in night; But like the blind who cries, We cry to Thee for light; In penitence, O Christ, we pray, Give us the radiant light of day.

• [Mar 3:35] We Bear The Strain Of Earthly Care

  We bear the strains of earthly care, But bear it not alone; Beside us walks our Brother Christ, And makes our task His own. Through din of market, whirl of wheels, And thrust of driving trade, We follow where the Master leads, Serene and unafraid. The common hopes that make us men Were His in Galilee; The tasks He gives are those He gave Beside the restless sea. Our brotherhood still rests in Him, The Brother of us all, And through the centuries we hear The Master’s winsome call.
