2 Corinthians 4
- [2Co 4:1] Since Through God’s Mercy
Since through God’s mercy this ministry’s ours,
Bringing men righteousness through God’s great power,
We don’t lose heart but renounce shameful ways;
We don’t deceive but the truth plainly say.
To unbelievers our message is veiled;
They are made blind by the god of this world.
But God who said, “Let the dark turn to light,”
Shined in our hearts with His glory so bright.We are hard pressed on all sides but not crushed;
We are perplexed, but we never give up;
We’re persecuted but not left by God;
We are struck down, but we’re never destroyed.
We have this treasure in jars made of clay,
That God’s great power and not ours be displayed.
Within our bodies Christ’s death do we show,
That Jesus’ life in us now may be known.We know we’ll be raised with Jesus one day;
Therefore, our trials do not cause dismay.
Though on the outside we’re wasting away,
Inwardly we are renewed day by day.
Our present troubles will soon pass away;
Eternal glory they’ll bring us some day.
We fix our eyes not on what we can see;
Only the unseen will eternal be.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [2Co 4:6] Let The Blessed Sunlight In
Would you always cheerful be,
Let the blessèd sunlight in;
Would you bid the darkness flee,
Let the blessèd sunlight in.Refrain
Let the blessèd sunlight in,
Let the blessèd sunlight in!
Would you never weary,
When the days are dreary,
Let the blessèd sunlight in!Would you brighten dreary days,
Let the blessèd sunlight in;
Would you fill your heart with praise,
Let the blessèd sunlight in.Refrain
Would you ease a burdened heart,
Let the blessèd sunlight in;
Would you joy and strength impart,
Let the blessèd sunlight in.Refrain
Would you speed the truth abroad,
Let the blessèd sunlight in;
Would you bring the world to God,
Let the blessèd sunlight in.Refrain

O, let the light stream in,
The glorious light of day,
That o’er the face of nature sheds
A bright and genial ray;
We need its beams our steps to guide,
Ere daily toils begin,
Then open wide the door of prayer,
And let the light stream in.
Let the light stream in,
Let the light stream in,
Then open wide the door of prayer,
And let the light stream in.O, let the light stream in,
The light of Gospel day,
That shineth through the righteousness
Of Christ, the Truth, the Way;
’Twill teach us how by faith in Him
Immortal souls to win,
Then open wide our willing hearts,
And let the light stream in.
Let the light stream in,
Let the light stream in,
Then open wide our willing hearts,
And let the light stream in.O, let the light stream in
Where homes are dark and drear,
The light of God’s eternal love,
That conquers every fear;
Its gentle smile new joys may wake,
Where sorrow long hath been,
Then open wide the door of hope,
And let the light shine in.
Let the light stream in,
Let the light stream in,
Then open wide the door of hope,
And let the light stream in.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [2Co 4:7] How Rich Thy Bounty, King Of Kings!
How rich Thy bounty, King of kings!
Thy favors, how divine!
The blessings which Thy Gospel brings,
How splendidly they shine!Gold is but dross, and gems but toys,
Should gold and gems compare;
How mean, when sent against those joys
Thy poorest servants share!Yet all these treasures of Thy grace
Are lodged in urns of clay;
And the weak sons of mortal race
The immortal gifts convey.Feebly they lisp Thy glories forth,
Yet grace the victory gives;
Quickly they molder back to earth,
Yet still Thy Gospel lives.Such wonders power divine effects;
Such trophies God can raise;
His hand, from crumbling dust, erects
His monuments of praise.Play source: Cyberhymnal - [2Co 4:18] O Holy Savior, Friend Unseen
O holy Savior, Friend unseen,
The faint, the weak on Thee may lean,
Help me, throughout life’s varying scene,
By faith to cling to Thee.Blessed with this fellowship divine,
Take what Thou wilt, I’ll ne’er repine;
E’en as the branches to the vine,
My soul would cling to Thee.Far from her home, fatigued, oppressed,
Here she has found her place of rest
An exile still, yet not unblest,
While she can cling to Thee.What though the world deceitful prove,
And earthly friends and joys remove,
With patient, uncomplaining love
Still would I cling to Thee.Though faith and hope may long be tried,
I ask not, need not aught beside;
How safe, how calm, how satisfied,
The souls that cling to Thee!Blessed is my lot, whate’er befall;
What can disturb me, who appall,
While as my Strength, my Rock, my All,
All, Savior, I cling to Thee!Play source: Cyberhymnal
