Matthew 23:30

And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, ¹  we would not have participated with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’

And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’

and say, ‘If we had been living in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partners with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’

Then you say, ‘We never would have joined them in killing the prophets.’

And you say that if you had lived in the days of your ancestors, no blood would have been on your hands.

If we had been living in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in the blood of the prophets.
