We are all like one who is unclean, all our so-called righteous acts are like a menstrual rag in your sight. 1 We all wither like a leaf; our sins carry us away like the wind.
All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.
For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
We are all infected and impure with sin. When we proudly display our righteous deeds, we find they are but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall. And our sins, like the wind, sweep us away.
We're all sin-infected, sin-contaminated. Our best efforts are grease-stained rags. We dry up like autumn leaves--sin-dried, we're blown off by the wind.
For we have all become like an unclean person, and all our good acts are like a dirty robe: and we have all become old like a dead leaf, and our sins, like the wind, take us away.
We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy cloth. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
But we are all like an unclean thing , And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.
But we are all as an unclean
[thing], and all our righteousnesses
[are] as filthy
and we all do fade
