He said to me, “These waters go out toward the eastern region and flow down into the Arabah; when they enter the Dead Sea, ¹  where the sea is stagnant, ²  the waters become fresh. ³ 

The southern side started on the edge of Kiriath Jearim and extended westward to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah.

Does the snow ever completely vanish from the rocky slopes of Lebanon? Do the cool waters from those distant mountains ever cease to flow? ¹ 

For recognition of the Lord’s sovereign majesty will fill the earth just as the waters fill up the sea. ¹ 

Then ¹  the angel ²  said to me, “The waters you saw (where the prostitute is seated) are peoples, multitudes, ³  nations, and languages.

He locks the waters in his clouds, and the clouds do not burst with the weight of them.

He divided the sea and led them across it; he made the water stand in a heap.

to the one who spread out the earth over the water, for his loyal love endures,

He then orders it all to melt; ¹  he breathes on it, ²  and the water flows.

So neither the one who plants counts for anything, ¹  nor the one who waters, but God who causes the growth.

The water would have overpowered us; the current ¹  would have overwhelmed ²  us. ³ 

You are a garden spring, ¹  a well ²  of fresh water ³  flowing down from Lebanon.

Justice must flow like torrents of water, righteous actions ¹  like a stream that never dries up.

What good will it do you ¹  then ²  to go down to Egypt to seek help from the Egyptians? ³  What good will it do you ⁴  to go over to Assyria to seek help from the Assyrians? ⁵ 

The flood engulfed the earth for forty days. As the waters increased, they lifted the ark and raised it above the earth.

So Aaron extended his hand over the waters of Egypt, and frogs ¹  came up and covered the land of Egypt.

They are like ¹  valleys ²  stretched forth, like gardens by the river’s side, like aloes ³  that the Lord has planted, and like cedar trees beside the waters.

All these kings gathered and joined forces ¹  at the Waters of Merom to fight Israel.

Joshua and his whole army caught them by surprise at the Waters of Merom and attacked them. ¹ 

I sink into the deep mire where there is no solid ground; ¹  I am in ²  deep water, and the current overpowers me.
