“But there is hope for ¹  a tree: ²  If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail.

Let the fields and everything in them celebrate! Then let the trees of the forest shout with joy

The trees of the Lord ¹  receive all the rain they need, ²  the cedars of Lebanon which he planted,

She is like ¹  a tree of life ²  to those who obtain her, ³  and everyone who grasps hold of her will be blessed. ⁴ 

The fruit of the righteous is like ¹  a tree producing life, ²  and the one who wins souls ³  is wise. ⁴ 

I designed ¹  royal gardens ²  and parks ³  for myself, and I planted all kinds of fruit trees in them.

Their children are always thinking about ¹  their ²  altars and their sacred poles dedicated to the goddess Asherah, ³  set up beside the green trees on the high hills

When I had returned, I noticed ¹  a vast number of trees on the banks of the river, on both sides.

The tree grew large and strong. Its top reached far into the sky; it could be seen ¹  from the borders of all the land. ² 

There are also two olive trees beside it, one on the right of the receptacle and the other on the left.” ¹ 

Next I asked the messenger, “What are these two olive trees on the right and the left of the menorah?”

Regaining his sight ¹  he said, “I see people, but they look like trees walking.”

In the morning as they passed by, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.

(These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth.) ¹ 

“Son of man, of all the woody branches among the trees of the forest, what happens to the wood of the vine? ¹ 

a human face toward the palm tree on one side and a lion’s face toward the palm tree on the other side. They were carved on the whole temple all around;

flowing down the middle of the city’s ¹  main street. ²  On each side ³  of the river is the tree of life producing twelve kinds ⁴  of fruit, yielding its fruit every month of the year. ⁵  Its leaves are for the healing of the nations.

I will make cedars, acacias, myrtles, and olive trees grow in the wilderness; I will make evergreens, firs, and cypresses grow together in the desert.

The lotus trees conceal it in their ¹  shadow; the poplars by the stream conceal it.

They invade like lumberjacks swinging their axes in a thick forest. ¹
