But when he came to his senses ¹  he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired workers have food ²  enough to spare, but here I am dying from hunger!

and they will come to their senses and escape the devil’s trap where they are held captive ¹  to do his will. ² 

But solid food is for the mature, whose perceptions are trained by practice to discern both good and evil.

She knows ¹  that her merchandise is good, and her lamp ²  does not go out in the night.

Sober up as you should, and stop sinning! For some have no knowledge of God – I say this to your shame!

Furthermore, some women of our group amazed us. ¹  They ²  were at the tomb early this morning,

Are you so foolish? Although you began ¹  with ²  the Spirit, are you now trying to finish ³  by human effort? ⁴ 

Now the works of the flesh ¹  are obvious: ²  sexual immorality, impurity, depravity,

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see.

At the sound of the trumpet, it says, ‘Aha!’ And from a distance it catches the scent of battle, the thunderous shouting of commanders, and the battle cries.

Let all the people of the earth acknowledge the Lord and turn to him! ¹  Let all the nations ²  worship you! ³ 

For our leaders ¹  are stupid. They have not sought the Lord’s advice. ²  So they do not act wisely, and the people they are responsible for ³  have all been scattered.

When his family ¹  heard this they went out to restrain him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”

You ¹  foolish Galatians! Who has cast a spell ²  on you? Before your eyes Jesus Christ was vividly portrayed ³  as crucified!

There is nothing better for ¹  people ²  than ³  to eat and drink, and to find enjoyment ⁴  in their ⁵  work. I also perceived that this ability to find enjoyment ⁶  comes from God. ⁷ 

I tried ¹  to understand, examine, and comprehend ²  the role of ³  wisdom in the scheme of things, ⁴  and to understand the stupidity of wickedness ⁵  and the insanity of folly. ⁶
