I run along the path of your commands, for you enable me to do so. ¹ 

Guide me ¹  in the path of your commands, for I delight to walk in it. ² 

I keep your commands eagerly and without delay. ¹ 

י (Yod) Your hands made me and formed me. ¹  Give me understanding so that I might learn ²  your commands.

All your commands are reliable. I am pursued without reason. ¹  Help me!

For this reason ¹  I love your commands more than gold, even purest gold.

Distress and hardship confront ¹  me, yet I find delight in your commands.

You are near, O Lord, and all your commands are reliable. ¹ 

Then I would not be ashamed, if ¹  I were focused on ²  all your commands.

I am like a foreigner in this land. ¹  Do not hide your commands from me!

I will lift my hands to ¹  your commands, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes.

May my tongue sing about your instructions, ¹  for all your commands are just.

“And now what are we able to say after this, our God? For we have forsaken your commandments

“But they – our ancestors ¹  – behaved presumptuously; they rebelled ²  and did not obey your commandments.

I have wandered off like a lost sheep. ¹  Come looking for your servant, for I do not forget your commands.

Make my son Solomon willing to obey your commands, rules, and regulations, and to complete building the palace for which I have made preparations.” ¹ 

Shall we once again break your commandments and intermarry with these abominable peoples? Would you not be so angered by us that you would wipe us out, with no survivor or remnant?

Our kings, our leaders, our priests, and our ancestors have not kept your law. They have not paid attention to your commandments or your testimonies by which you have solemnly admonished them.
