The Lord is a zealous 1 and avenging 2 God; the Lord is avenging and very angry. 3 The Lord takes vengeance 4 against his foes; he sustains his rage 5 against his enemies.
“If a man strikes his male servant or his female servant with a staff so that he or she 1 dies as a result of the blow, 2 he will surely be punished. 3
“This is what the sovereign Lord says: ‘Edom 1 has taken vengeance against the house of Judah; they have made themselves fully culpable 2 by taking vengeance 3 on them. 4
