Ahab also made an Asherah pole; he 1 did more to anger the Lord God of Israel than all the kings of Israel who were before him.
He smashed the sacred pillars to bits, cut down the Asherah pole, and filled those shrines 1 with human bones.
Baal-Hanan the Gederite was in charge of the olive and sycamore trees in the lowlands; 1 Joash was in charge of the storehouses of olive oil.

When the men of the city got up the next morning, they saw 1 the Baal altar pulled down, the nearby Asherah pole cut down, and the second bull sacrificed on the newly built altar.
