always carrying around in our body the death of Jesus, 1 so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible 2 in our body.
For you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.
But someone will say, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?”
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its desires,
For just as in one body we have many members, and not all the members serve the same function,
But as a matter of fact, God has placed each of the members in the body just as he decided.
so that there may be no division in the body, but the members may have mutual concern for one another.
Therefore we are always full of courage, and we know that as long as we are alive here on earth 1 we are absent from the Lord –
and to reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by which the hostility has been killed. 1
but now he has reconciled you 1 by his physical body through death to present you holy, without blemish, and blameless before him –
Remember those in prison as though you were in prison with them, 1 and those ill-treated as though you too felt their torment. 2
At once the bleeding stopped, 1 and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.
For even though I am absent physically, 1 I am present in spirit. And I have already judged the one who did this, just as though I were present. 2
And I know that this man (whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, God knows)
From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear the marks of Jesus on my body. 1
Let the peace of Christ be in control in your heart (for you were in fact called as one body 1 to this peace), and be thankful.
Then 1 Jesus 2 said to his 3 disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry 4 about your 5 life, what you will eat, or about your 6 body, what you will wear.
“Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food, but God will do away with both.” 1 The body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago (whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows) was caught up to the third heaven.
My confident hope 1 is that I will in no way be ashamed 2 but that with complete boldness, even now as always, Christ will be exalted in my body, whether I live or die. 3
