You 1 once were not a people, but now you are God’s people. You were shown no mercy, 2 but now you have received mercy.
And all the people 1 came to him early in the morning to listen to him in the temple courts. 2
All 1 the people saw him walking and praising God,
None of the rest dared to join them, 1 but the people held them in high honor. 2
‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart 1 is far from me,
In 1 reply all the people said, “Let his blood be on us and on our children!”
Now 1 the people were waiting for Zechariah, and they began to wonder 2 why he was delayed in the holy place. 3
(Now 1 all the people who heard this, even the tax collectors, 2 acknowledged 3 God’s justice, because they had been baptized 4 with John’s baptism.
but 1 they could not find a way to do it, 2 for all the people hung on his words. 3
the people who sit in darkness have seen a great light, and on those who sit in the region and shadow of death a light has dawned.” 1
And immediately he regained 1 his sight and followed Jesus, 2 praising 3 God. When 4 all the people saw it, they too 5 gave praise to God.
But if we say, ‘From people,’ all the people will stone us, because they are convinced that John was a prophet.”
Early in the morning he came to the temple courts again. All the people came to him, and he sat down and began to teach 1 them.
While the man 1 was hanging on to Peter and John, all the people, completely astounded, ran together to them in the covered walkway 2 called Solomon’s Portico. 3
“But as the time drew near for God to fulfill the promise he had declared to Abraham, 1 the people increased greatly in number 2 in Egypt,
because I am with you, and no one will assault 1 you to harm 2 you, because I have many people in this city.”
“And in the very place 1 where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’” 2
So do not be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.” 1
He said to them, “Isaiah prophesied correctly about you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart 1 is far from me.
The people also stood there watching, but the rulers ridiculed 1 him, saying, “He saved others. Let him save 2 himself if 3 he is the Christ 4 of God, his chosen one!”
