But when Herod heard this, he said, “John, whom I beheaded, has been raised!”
and 1 saying, “The Lord has really risen, and has appeared to Simon!” 2
So when Mary 1 heard this, she got up quickly and went to him.
He 1 was given over 2 because of our transgressions and was raised for the sake of 3 our justification. 4
He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Then 1 she got up and began to serve them.
But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and gently took her by the hand, and the girl got up.
He is not here, for he has been raised, 1 just as he said. Come and see the place where he 2 was lying.
He is not here, but has been raised! 1 Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, 2
And immediately the man 1 stood up, took his stretcher, and went out in front of them all. They were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
Now Herod 1 the tetrarch 2 heard about everything that was happening, and he was thoroughly perplexed, 3 because some people were saying that John 4 had been raised from the dead,
So Saul got up from the ground, but although his eyes were open, 1 he could see nothing. 2 Leading him by the hand, his companions 3 brought him into Damascus.
and he said to his servants, “This is John the Baptist. He has been raised from the dead! And because of this, miraculous powers are at work in him.”
So give orders to secure the tomb until the third day. Otherwise his disciples may come and steal his body 1 and say to the people, ‘He has been raised from the dead,’ and the last deception will be worse than the first.”
Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead. He 1 is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there.’ Listen, I have told you!”
But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. 1 He has been raised! 2 He is not here. Look, there is the place where they laid him.
Fear 1 seized them all, and they began to glorify 2 God, saying, “A great prophet 3 has appeared 4 among us!” and “God has come to help 5 his people!”
So after he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the scripture 1 and the saying 2 that Jesus had spoken.
Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may live a new life. 1
