John’s baptism ¹  – was it from heaven or from people?” ² 

even us, whom he has called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?

Love ¹  the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ ² 

We are Jews by birth ¹  and not Gentile sinners, ² 

it is not from ¹  works, so that no one can boast. ² 

They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us, because if they had belonged to us, they would have remained ¹  with us. But ²  they went out from us ³  to demonstrate ⁴  that all of them do not belong to us. ⁵ 

The only thing I want to learn from you is this: Did you receive the Spirit by doing the works of the law ¹  or by believing what you heard? ² 

Does God then give ¹  you the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law ²  or by your believing what you heard? ³ 

Where did John’s baptism come from? From heaven or from people?” ¹  They discussed this among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’

And to love him with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your strength ¹  and to love your neighbor as yourself ²  is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

And one of them, an expert in religious law, ¹  asked him a question to test ²  him:

Five ¹  of the virgins ²  were foolish, and five were wise.

He ¹  will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

Then two outlaws were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left.

But ¹  Jesus rebuked him: ²  “Silence! Come out of him!” ³ 

And after taking the cup and giving thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it.

And they crucified two outlaws with him, one on his right and one on his left. ¹ 

that we should be saved ¹  from our enemies, ²  and from the hand of all who hate us.

Because of ¹  our God’s tender mercy ²  the dawn ³  will break ⁴  upon us from on high
