He asked them, “What are you arguing about with them?”

I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but that you keep them safe 1 from the evil one. 2
He 1 saw them straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. As the night was ending, 2 he came to them walking on the sea, 3 for 4 he wanted to pass by them. 5
But many saw them leaving and recognized them, and they hurried on foot 1 from all the towns 2 and arrived there ahead of them. 3
As Jesus 1 came ashore 2 he saw the large crowd and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So 3 he taught them many things.
As 1 he was saying this, a cloud 2 came 3 and overshadowed 4 them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.
But as for these enemies of mine who did not want me to be their king, 1 bring them here and slaughter 2 them 3 in front of me!’”
Then 1 he began to teach 2 them by saying:
because he taught them like one who had authority, 1 not like their experts in the law. 2
As the night was ending, 1 Jesus came to them walking on the sea. 2
Large crowds followed him, and he healed them there.
The blind and lame came to him in the temple courts, and he healed them.
