when they see your pure and reverent conduct. 1
Do not lay hands on anyone 1 hastily and so identify with the sins of others. 2 Keep yourself pure.
For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy, because I promised you in marriage to one husband, 1 to present you as a pure 2 virgin to Christ.
to be self-controlled, 1 pure, fulfilling their duties at home, 2 kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the message 3 of God may not be discredited. 4
And everyone who has this hope focused 1 on him purifies 2 himself, just as Jesus 3 is pure). 4
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, 1 full of mercy and good fruit, 2 impartial, and not hypocritical. 3
For see what this very thing, this sadness 1 as God intended, has produced in you: what eagerness, what defense of yourselves, 2 what indignation, 3 what alarm, what longing, what deep concern, 4 what punishment! 5 In everything you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.
Finally, brothers and sisters, 1 whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things.
