Then they brought to him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute. Jesus 1 healed him so that he could speak and see. 2
Now 1 he was casting out a demon that was mute. 2 When 3 the demon had gone out, the man who had been mute began to speak, 4 and the crowds were amazed.
As 1 they were going away, 2 a man who could not talk and was demon-possessed was brought to him.
They brought to him a deaf man who had difficulty speaking, and they asked him to place his hands on him.
People were completely astounded and said, “He has done everything well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”
After the demon was cast out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowds were amazed and said, “Never has anything like this been seen in Israel!”
The blind see, the 1 lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news proclaimed to them.
As a result, the crowd was amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled healthy, the lame walking, and the blind seeing, and they praised the God of Israel.
Then 1 large crowds came to him bringing with them the lame, blind, crippled, mute, and many others. They 2 laid them at his feet, and he healed them.
Now when Jesus saw that a crowd was quickly gathering, he rebuked 1 the unclean spirit, 2 saying to it, “Mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”
When 1 he came out, he was not able to speak to them. They 2 realized that he had seen a vision 3 in the holy place, 4 because 5 he was making signs to them and remained unable to speak. 6
So 1 he answered them, 2 “Go tell 3 John what you have seen and heard: 4 The blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the 5 deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have good news proclaimed to them.
