When Jesus saw her weeping, and the people 1 who had come with her weeping, he was intensely moved 2 in spirit and greatly distressed. 3
When he had said these things, Jesus was greatly distressed 1 in spirit, and testified, 2 “I tell you the solemn truth, 3 one of you will betray me.” 4
“You stubborn 1 people, with uncircumcised 2 hearts and ears! 3 You are always resisting the Holy Spirit, like your ancestors 4 did!
And I remembered the word of the Lord, 1 as he used to say, 2 ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ 3
And now, 1 compelled 2 by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem 3 without knowing what will happen to me there, 4
but someone is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart 1 by the Spirit 2 and not by the written code. 3 This person’s 4 praise is not from people but from God.
For the kingdom of God does not consist of food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
For even though I am absent physically, 1 I am present in spirit. And I have already judged the one who did this, just as though I were present. 2
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body. Whether Jews or Greeks or slaves 1 or free, we were all made to drink of the one Spirit.
I had no relief in my spirit, 1 because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I said good-bye to them 2 and set out 3 for Macedonia.
I urged Titus to visit you 1 and I sent our 2 brother along with him. Titus did not take advantage of you, did he? 3 Did we not conduct ourselves in the same spirit? Did we not behave in the same way? 4
Now this secret 1 was not disclosed to people 2 in former 3 generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by 4 the Spirit,
With every prayer and petition, pray 1 at all times in the Spirit, and to this end 2 be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints.
For we are the circumcision, 1 the ones who worship by the Spirit of God, 2 exult in Christ Jesus, and do not rely on human credentials 3
and then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord 1 will destroy by the breath of his mouth and wipe out by the manifestation of his arrival.
1 Because Christ also suffered 2 once for sins, the just for the unjust, 3 to bring you to God, by being put to death in the flesh but 4 by being made alive in the spirit. 5
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, 1 but test 2 the spirits 3 to determine 4 if they are from God, because many false prophets 5 have gone out into the world.
“I baptize you with water, for repentance, but the one coming after me is more powerful than I am – I am not worthy 1 to carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 2
Now when Jesus saw that a crowd was quickly gathering, he rebuked 1 the unclean spirit, 2 saying to it, “Mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”
David himself, by the Holy Spirit, said, ‘The Lord said to my lord, 1 “Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet.”’ 2
