Having no regard 1 for the command of God, you hold fast to human tradition.” 2
Dear friends, I am not writing a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. 1 The old commandment is the word that you have already 2 heard.
He also said to them, “You neatly reject the commandment of God in order to set up 1 your tradition.
But Jesus said to them, “He wrote this commandment for you because of your hard hearts. 1
Then 1 they returned and prepared aromatic spices 2 and perfumes. 3 On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment. 4
“I give you a new commandment – to love 1 one another. Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 2
to obey 1 this command 2 without fault or failure until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ
He answered them, 1 “And why do you disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?
For I have not spoken from my own authority, 1 but the Father himself who sent me has commanded me 2 what I should say and what I should speak.
but I am doing just what the Father commanded me, so that the world may know 1 that I love the Father. 2 Get up, let us go from here.” 3
And the commandment we have from him is this: that 1 the one who loves God should love his fellow Christian 2 too.
I rejoiced greatly because I have found some 1 of your children living according to the truth, 2 just as the Father commanded us. 3
But now 1 I ask you, lady (not as if I were 2 writing a new commandment 3 to you, but the one 4 we have had from the beginning), 5 that 6 we love one another.
