“If you love me, you will obey my commandments.

Now by this we know that we have come to know God: if we keep his commandments.

If you obey my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.

This requires the steadfast endurance of the saints – those who obey God’s commandments and hold to their faith in Jesus.

You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’”

(Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that anyone who knew where Jesus was should report it, so that they could arrest him.)
