concerning sin, because ¹  they do not believe in me; ² 

(For someone who has died has been freed from sin.) ¹ 

For the blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sins. ¹ 

“Whole burnt offerings and sin-offerings you took no delight in.

Now where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.

so also, after Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many, ¹  to those who eagerly await him he will appear a second time, not to bear sin ²  but to bring salvation. ³ 

But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, ¹  forgiving ²  us our sins and cleansing ³  us from all unrighteousness.

and he was baptizing them ¹  in the Jordan River as they confessed their sins.

And when he ¹  comes, he will prove the world wrong ²  concerning sin and ³  righteousness and ⁴  judgment –

If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven; ¹  if you retain anyone’s sins, they are retained.” ² 

and having been freed from sin, you became enslaved to righteousness.

For when you were slaves of sin, you were free with regard to righteousness.

And this is my covenant with them, ¹  when I take away their sins.” ² 

choosing rather to be ill-treated with the people of God than to enjoy sin’s fleeting pleasure.

For God achieved what the law could not do because ¹  it was weakened through the flesh. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and concerning sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,

“Why does this man speak this way? He is blaspheming! ¹  Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

But ¹  those who were at the table ²  with him began to say among themselves, “Who is this, who even forgives sins?”

Who among you can prove me guilty ¹  of any sin? ²  If I am telling you ³  the truth, why don’t you believe me?

And now what are you waiting for? ¹  Get up, ²  be baptized, and have your sins washed away, ³  calling on his name.’ ⁴ 

For no one is declared righteous before him ¹  by the works of the law, ²  for through the law comes ³  the knowledge of sin.
