Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So ¹  they called the blind man and said to him, “Have courage! Get up! He is calling you.”

Then Peter denied it again, and immediately a rooster crowed. ¹ 

And when she had said this, Martha ¹  went and called her sister Mary, saying privately, ²  “The Teacher is here and is asking for you.” ³ 

When ¹  some of the bystanders heard it, they said, “This man is calling for Elijah.”

When some of the bystanders heard it they said, “Listen, he is calling for Elijah!” ¹ 

But Jesus ¹  gently took her by the hand and said, ²  “Child, get up.”

He ¹  said to her, “Go call your husband and come back here.” ² 

They ¹  called out to ask if Simon, known as Peter, ²  was staying there as a guest.

Immediately a rooster ¹  crowed a second time. Then ²  Peter remembered what Jesus had said to him: “Before a rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” And he broke down and wept. ³ 

Jesus stopped, called them, and said, “What do you want me to do for you?”

At that he began to curse, and he swore with an oath, “I do not know the man!” At that moment a rooster crowed. ¹ 

After throwing him into convulsions, the unclean spirit cried out with a loud voice and came out of him.

Jesus replied, ¹  “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow ²  today until you have denied ³  three times that you know me.”

You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and do so correctly, ¹  for that is what I am. ² 

But Paul called out loudly, ¹  “Do not harm yourself, ²  for we are all here!”

Jesus said to him, “I tell you the truth, ¹  on this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”

Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said: “Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly. ¹ 

After he sat down, he called the twelve and said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”

Jesus said to him, “I tell you the truth, ¹  today – this very night – before a rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”

But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” At that moment, ¹  while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed. ²
