If your eye causes you to sin, tear it out! ¹  It is better to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye than to have ²  two eyes and be thrown into hell,

Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, ¹  your whole body is full of light, but when it is diseased, ²  your body is full of darkness.

“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, ¹  so that they would not see with their eyes and understand with their heart, ²  and turn to me, ³  and I would heal them.” ⁴ 

And their eyes were opened. Then Jesus sternly warned them, “See that no one knows about this.”

He came again and found them sleeping; they could not keep their eyes open. ¹ 

Though you have eyes, don’t you see? And though you have ears, can’t you hear? ¹  Don’t you remember?

Then Jesus ¹  placed his hands on the man’s ²  eyes again. And he opened his eyes, ³  his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.

Then ¹  Jesus ²  turned ³  to his ⁴  disciples and said privately, “Blessed ⁵  are the eyes that see what you see!

At this point ¹  their eyes were opened and they recognized ²  him. ³  Then ⁴  he vanished out of their sight.

(Now the day on which Jesus made the mud ¹  and caused him to see ²  was a Sabbath.) ³ 

Others said, “These are not the words ¹  of someone possessed by a demon. A demon cannot cause the blind to see, ²  can it?” ³ 

After ¹  he had said this, while they were watching, he was lifted up and a cloud hid him from their sight.

Immediately ¹  something like scales ²  fell from his eyes, and he could see again. He ³  got up and was baptized,

let their eyes be darkened so that they may not see, and make their backs bend continually.” ¹ 

If the whole body were an eye, what part would do the hearing? If the whole were an ear, what part would exercise the sense of smell?

You ¹  foolish Galatians! Who has cast a spell ²  on you? Before your eyes Jesus Christ was vividly portrayed ³  as crucified!

For the eyes of the Lord are ¹  upon the righteous and his ears are open to their prayer. But the Lord’s face is against those who do evil. ² 

Am I not ¹  permitted to do what I want with what belongs to me? Or are you envious because I am generous?’ ² 

When he came again he found them sleeping; they could not keep their eyes open. ¹  And they did not know what to tell him.

Then ¹  he rolled up ²  the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on ³  him.
