When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are to possess, you must pronounce the blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal. 1
“The following tribes 1 must stand to bless the people on Mount Gerizim when you cross the Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.
When Jotham heard the news, 1 he went and stood on the top of Mount Gerizim. He spoke loudly to the people below, 2 “Listen to me, leaders of Shechem, so that God may listen to you!
All the people, 1 rulers, 2 leaders, and judges were standing on either side of the ark, in front of the Levitical priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord. Both resident foreigners and native Israelites were there. 3 Half the people stood in front of Mount Gerizim and the other half in front of Mount Ebal, as Moses the Lord’s servant had previously instructed to them to do for the formal blessing ceremony. 4
Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, 1 and you people 2 say that the place where people must worship is in Jerusalem.” 3
But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 1
The Lord spoke to Moses at Mount Sinai:
They traveled from Kehelathah and camped at Mount Shepher.
They traveled from Mount Shepher and camped in Haradah.
They traveled from Mount Hor and camped in Zalmonah.
From there he traveled to Mount Carmel and then back to Samaria. 1
So the Israelites stripped off their ornaments by Mount Horeb.
These are the commandments which the Lord commanded Moses to tell the Israelites 1 at Mount Sinai.
So the entire company of Israelites 1 traveled from Kadesh and came to Mount Hor. 2
They traveled from Kadesh and camped in Mount Hor at the edge of the land of Edom.
Then Joshua built an altar for the Lord God of Israel on Mount Ebal,
After 1 singing a hymn, 2 they went out to the Mount of Olives.
After singing a hymn, 1 they went out to the Mount of Olives.
It then turned from Baalah westward to Mount Seir, crossed to the slope of Mount Jearim on the north (that is Kesalon), descended to Beth Shemesh, and crossed to Timnah.
Their territory extended 1 from Aroer at the edge of the Arnon valley as far as Mount Siyon 2 – that is, Hermon –
