And so ¹  you are to separate the Levites from among the Israelites, and the Levites will be mine.

David gathered together the descendants of Aaron and the Levites:

When Hezekiah asked the priests and Levites about the heaps,

“Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn males among the Israelites, and the livestock of the Levites instead of their livestock. And the Levites will be mine. I am the Lord.

As for ¹  the cities of the Levites, the houses in the cities which they possess, ²  the Levites must have a perpetual right of redemption.

Then you are to bring the Levites before the Lord, and the Israelites are to lay their hands on the Levites; ¹ 

“Do not allow the tribe of the families of the Kohathites to be cut off ¹  from among the Levites;

A priest of Aaron’s line ¹  will be with the Levites when the Levites collect the tithes, and the Levites will bring up a tenth of the tithes to the temple of our God, to the storerooms of the treasury.

So Moses accepted the carts and the oxen and gave them to the Levites.

“Take the Levites from among the Israelites and purify ¹  them.

So I have taken the Levites instead of all the firstborn sons among the Israelites.

“The Levites will call out to every Israelite ¹  with a loud voice:

he ¹  commanded the Levites who carried the ark of the Lord’s covenant,

So the Israelites gave to the Levites these cities and their pasturelands.

David ¹  assembled all the leaders of Israel, along with the priests and the Levites.

When all Israel’s elders had arrived, the Levites lifted the ark.

He brought in the priests and Levites and assembled them in the square on the east side.

The Levites had ¹  David’s musical instruments and the priests had trumpets.

The Levites: the descendants of Jeshua and Kadmiel (through the line of Hodaviah): 74.

The Levites were as follows: Jeshua ¹  son of Azaniah, Binnui of the sons of Henadad, Kadmiel.
