When 1 the woman saw that she could not escape notice, 2 she came trembling and fell down before him. In 3 the presence of all the people, she explained why 4 she had touched him and how she had been immediately healed.
let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ 1 the Nazarene whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this man stands before you healthy.
But I have nothing definite 1 to write to my lord 2 about him. 3 Therefore I have brought him before you all, and especially before you, King Agrippa, 4 so that after this preliminary hearing 5 I may have something to write.
After three days 1 Paul 2 called the local Jewish leaders 3 together. When they had assembled, he said to them, “Brothers, 4 although I had done 5 nothing against our people or the customs of our ancestors, 6 from Jerusalem 7 I was handed over as a prisoner to the Romans. 8
And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised, 1 so that he would become 2 the father of all those who believe but have never been circumcised, 3 that they too could have righteousness credited to them.
For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree?
I have applied these things to myself and Apollos because of you, brothers and sisters, 1 so that through us you may learn “not to go beyond what is written,” so that none of you will be puffed up in favor of the one against the other.
yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we live, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we live. 1
I wish you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets so that the church may be strengthened.
For our reason for confidence 1 is this: the testimony of our conscience, that with pure motives 2 and sincerity which are from God 3 – not by human wisdom 4 but by the grace of God – we conducted ourselves in the world, and all the more 5 toward you.
I have been crucified with Christ, 1 and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So 2 the life I now live in the body, 3 I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, 4 who loved me and gave himself for me.
And so 1 we too constantly thank God that when you received God’s message that you heard from us, 2 you accepted it not as a human message, 3 but as it truly is, God’s message, which is at work among you who believe.
but we see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, 1 now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, 2 so that by God’s grace he would experience 3 death on behalf of everyone.
Such trials show the proven character of your faith, 1 which is much more valuable than gold – gold that is tested by fire, even though it is passing away 2 – and will bring praise 3 and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 4
Moreover, 1 we 2 possess the prophetic word as an altogether reliable thing. 3 You do well if you pay attention 4 to this 5 as you would 6 to a light shining in a murky place, until the day dawns and the morning star 7 rises in your hearts. 8
Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be 1 has not yet been revealed. We 2 know that 3 whenever 4 it 5 is revealed 6 we will be like him, because 7 we will see him just as he is. 8
Dear friends, although I have been eager to write to you 1 about our common salvation, I now feel compelled 2 instead to write to encourage 3 you to contend earnestly 4 for the faith 5 that was once for all 6 entrusted to the saints. 7
For certain men 1 have secretly slipped in among you 2 – men who long ago 3 were marked out 4 for the condemnation I am about to describe 5 – ungodly men who have turned the grace of our God into a license for evil 6 and who deny our only Master 7 and Lord, 8 Jesus Christ.
Each one of the four living creatures had six wings 1 and was full of eyes all around and inside. 2 They never rest day or night, saying: 3 “Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God, the All-Powerful, 4 Who was and who is, and who is still to come!”
