Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered.”

But if we say, ‘From people – ’” (they feared the crowd, for they all considered John to be truly a prophet).

A man named Barabbas was imprisoned with rebels who had committed murder during an insurrection.

Now ¹  the whole crowd ²  of people were praying outside at the hour of the incense offering. ³ 

Now ¹  the people were waiting for Zechariah, and they began to wonder ²  why he was delayed in the holy place. ³ 

So ¹  the child’s ²  father ³  and mother were amazed ⁴  at what was said about him.

And the child grew and became strong, ¹  filled with wisdom, ²  and the favor ³  of God ⁴  was upon him.

So ¹  Jesus, when he began his ministry, ²  was about thirty years old. He was ³  the son (as was supposed) ⁴  of Joseph, the son ⁵  of Heli,

So ¹  he went down to Capernaum, ²  a town ³  in Galilee, and on the Sabbath he began to teach the people. ⁴ 

Now ¹  in the synagogue ²  there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean ³  demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,

A centurion ¹  there ²  had a slave ³  who was highly regarded, ⁴  but who was sick and at the point of death.

They appeared in glorious splendor and spoke about his departure ¹  that he was about to carry out ²  at Jerusalem. ³ 

Whenever ¹  you enter a town ²  and the people ³  welcome you, eat what is set before you.

But whenever ¹  you enter a town ²  and the people ³  do not welcome ⁴  you, go into its streets ⁵  and say,

It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed with ¹  three measures ²  of flour until all the dough had risen.” ³ 

“There was a rich man who dressed in purple ¹  and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously ²  every day.

He ¹  fell with his face to the ground ²  at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. ³  (Now ⁴  he was a Samaritan.) ⁵ 

He said, ¹  “In a certain city ²  there was a judge ³  who neither feared God nor respected people. ⁴ 

Now ¹  a man named Zacchaeus was there; he was a chief tax collector ²  and was rich.

(This ¹  was a man who had been thrown into prison for an insurrection ²  started in the city, and for murder.) ³
