After they stopped speaking, ¹  James replied, ²  “Brothers, listen to me.

Both Judas and Silas, who were prophets themselves, encouraged and strengthened the brothers with a long speech. ¹ 

but Paul chose Silas and set out, commended ¹  to the grace of the Lord by the brothers and sisters. ² 

There ¹  we found ²  some brothers ³  and were invited to stay with them seven days. And in this way we came to Rome. ⁴ 

Brothers and sisters, ¹  my heart’s desire and prayer to God on behalf of my fellow Israelites ²  is for their salvation.

Therefore we must not pass judgment on one another, but rather determine never to place an obstacle or a trap before a brother or sister. ¹ 

It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything that causes your brother to stumble. ¹ 

For members of Chloe’s household have made it clear to me, my brothers and sisters, ¹  that there are quarrels ²  among you.

So, brothers and sisters, ¹  I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but instead as people of the flesh, ²  as infants in Christ.

So by your knowledge the weak brother or sister, ¹  for whom Christ died, is destroyed. ² 

If you sin against your brothers or sisters ¹  in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.

Brothers and sisters, ¹  do not be children in your thinking. Instead, be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.

Then he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters ¹  at one time, most of whom are still alive, ²  though some have fallen asleep. ³ 

Every day I am in danger of death! This is as sure as ¹  my boasting in you, ²  which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Now we make known to you, brothers and sisters, ¹  the grace of God given to the churches of Macedonia,

And we are sending ¹  along with him the brother who is praised by all the churches for his work in spreading the gospel. ² 

If there is any question ¹  about Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker among you; if there is any question about our brothers, they are messengers ²  of the churches, a glory to Christ.

Now ¹  I want you to know, brothers and sisters, ²  that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. ³ 

Brothers and sisters, ¹  I offer an example from everyday life: ²  When a covenant ³  has been ratified, ⁴  even though it is only a human contract, no one can set it aside or add anything to it.

I beg you, brothers and sisters, ¹  become like me, because I have become like you. You have done me no wrong!
