In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, ¹  when Pontius Pilate ²  was governor of Judea, and Herod ³  was tetrarch ⁴  of Galilee, and his brother Philip ⁵  was tetrarch of the region of Iturea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias ⁶  was tetrarch of Abilene,

When he heard that Jesus had come back from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and begged him ¹  to come down and heal his son, who was about to die.

You destroyed ¹  the sea by your strength; you shattered the heads of the sea monster ²  in the water.

Their southern border started at the southern tip of the Salt Sea, ¹ 

he alone spreads out the heavens, and treads ¹  on the waves of the sea; ² 

Its branches reached the Mediterranean Sea, ¹  and its shoots the Euphrates River. ² 

amazing feats in the land of Ham, mighty ¹  acts by the Red Sea.

The sea looked and fled; ¹  the Jordan River ²  turned back. ³ 

But you trample on the sea with your horses, on the surging, raging waters. ¹ 

and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand here ¹  looking up into the sky? This same Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven ²  will come back in the same way you saw him go into heaven.”

So ¹  they came to the other side of the lake, to the region of the Gerasenes. ² 

So Moses extended his hand toward the sea, and the sea returned to its normal state ¹  when the sun began to rise. ²  Now the Egyptians were fleeing ³  before it, but the Lord overthrew ⁴  the Egyptians in the middle of the sea.

All the streams flow ¹  into the sea, but the sea is not full, and to the place where the streams flow, there they will flow again. ² 

Moses stretched out his hand toward the sea, and the Lord drove the sea apart ¹  by a strong east wind all that night, and he made the sea into dry land, and the water was divided.

For the horses of Pharaoh came with his chariots and his footmen into the sea, and the Lord brought back the waters of the sea on them, but the Israelites walked on dry land in the middle of the sea.”

He put “The Sea” on the south side, in the southeast corner.

Its measure is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

The deep ¹  says, ‘It is not with ²  me.’ And the sea says, ‘It is not with me.’

Have you gone to the springs that fill the sea, ¹  or walked about in the recesses of the deep?

For he set its foundation upon the seas, and established ¹  it upon the ocean currents. ²
