For ¹  a while he refused, but later on ²  he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor have regard for people, ³ 

And immediately he regained ¹  his sight and followed Jesus, ²  praising ³  God. When ⁴  all the people saw it, they too ⁵  gave praise to God.

But the other rebuked him, saying, ¹  “Don’t ²  you fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? ³ 

Now when the centurion ¹  saw what had happened, he praised God and said, “Certainly this man was innocent!” ² 

In the beginning ¹  was the Word, and the Word was with God, ²  and the Word was fully God. ³ 

You people ¹  are doing the deeds of your father.” Then ²  they said to Jesus, ³  “We were not born as a result of immorality! ⁴  We have only one Father, God himself.”

The Jewish leaders ¹  replied, ²  “We are not going to stone you for a good deed ³  but for blasphemy, ⁴  because ⁵  you, a man, are claiming to be God.” ⁶ 

Because Jesus ¹  knew that the Father had handed all things over to him, ²  and that he had come from God and was going back to God,

Now this ¹  is eternal life ²  – that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, ³  whom you sent.

(Now Jesus ¹  said this to indicate clearly by what kind of death Peter ²  was going to glorify God.) ³  After he said this, Jesus told Peter, ⁴  “Follow me.”

praising God and having the good will ¹  of all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number every day ²  those who were being saved.

He ¹  jumped up, ²  stood and began walking around, and he entered the temple courts ³  with them, walking and leaping and praising God.

He ¹  was a devout, God-fearing man, ²  as was all his household; he did many acts of charity for the people ³  and prayed to God regularly.

When they heard this, ¹  they ceased their objections ²  and praised ³  God, saying, “So then, God has granted the repentance ⁴  that leads to life even to the Gentiles.” ⁵ 

So Peter was kept in prison, but those in the church were earnestly ¹  praying to God for him. ² 

So Paul stood up, ¹  gestured ²  with his hand and said, “Men of Israel, ³  and you Gentiles who fear God, ⁴  listen:

Brothers, ¹  descendants ²  of Abraham’s family, ³  and those Gentiles among you who fear God, ⁴  the message ⁵  of this salvation has been sent to us.

So now why are you putting God to the test ¹  by placing on the neck of the disciples a yoke ²  that neither our ancestors ³  nor we have been able to bear?

so that they would search for God and perhaps grope around ¹  for him and find him, ²  though he is ³  not far from each one of us.

Then Paul ¹  left ²  the synagogue ³  and went to the house of a person named Titius Justus, a Gentile who worshiped God, ⁴  whose house was next door to the synagogue.
