When ¹  they came ²  to Jesus, they urged ³  him earnestly, ⁴  “He is worthy ⁵  to have you do this for him,

He ¹  was trying to get a look at Jesus, ²  but being a short man he could not see over the crowd. ³ 

He released the man they asked for, who had been thrown in prison for insurrection and murder. But he handed Jesus over ¹  to their will. ² 

On the next day John ¹  saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God ²  who takes away the sin of the world!

Then, when they had rowed about three or four miles, ¹  they caught sight of Jesus walking on the lake, ²  approaching the boat, and they were frightened.

Thus they were looking for Jesus, ¹  and saying to one another as they stood in the temple courts, ²  “What do you think? That he won’t come to the feast?”

So these approached Philip, ¹  who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and requested, ²  “Sir, we would like to see Jesus.”

Now this ¹  is eternal life ²  – that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, ³  whom you sent.

They replied, ¹  “Jesus the Nazarene.” He told them, “I am he.” (Now Judas, the one who betrayed him, was standing there with them.) ² 

So Pilate went back into the governor’s residence, ¹  summoned Jesus, and asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?” ² 

When Pilate heard these words he brought Jesus outside and sat down on the judgment seat ¹  in the place called “The Stone Pavement” ²  (Gabbatha in ³  Aramaic). ⁴ 

When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, ¹  but she did not know that it was Jesus.

Therefore let all the house of Israel know beyond a doubt ¹  that God has made this Jesus whom you crucified ²  both Lord ³  and Christ.” ⁴ 

But Stephen, ¹  full ²  of the Holy Spirit, looked intently ³  toward heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing ⁴  at the right hand of God.

So Philip started speaking, ¹  and beginning with this scripture ²  proclaimed the good news about Jesus to him.

But there were some men from Cyprus ¹  and Cyrene ²  among them who came ³  to Antioch ⁴  and began to speak to the Greeks ⁵  too, proclaiming the good news of the Lord Jesus.

And we proclaim to you the good news about the promise to our ancestors, ¹ 

and ¹  Jason has welcomed them as guests! They ²  are all acting against Caesar’s ³  decrees, saying there is another king named ⁴  Jesus!” ⁵ 

But the evil spirit replied to them, ¹  “I know about Jesus ²  and I am acquainted with ³  Paul, but who are you?” ⁴ 

but also for our sake, to whom it will be credited, those who believe in the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
