For the law was given through Moses, but ¹  grace and truth came about through Jesus Christ.

On the next day, ¹  their rulers, elders, and experts in the law ²  came together ³  in Jerusalem. ⁴ 

After an interval of about three hours, ¹  his wife came in, but she did not know ²  what had happened.

Great ¹  fear gripped ²  the whole church ³  and all who heard about these things.

When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight, and when he approached to investigate, there came the voice of the Lord,

As he was going along, approaching ¹  Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed ²  around him.

and after taking some food, his strength returned. For several days ¹  he was with the disciples in Damascus,

Now ¹  as Peter was traveling around from place to place, ²  he also came down to the saints who lived in Lydda. ³ 

At that time ¹  she became sick ²  and died. When they had washed ³  her body, ⁴  they placed it in an upstairs room.

At daybreak ¹  there was great consternation ²  among the soldiers over what had become of Peter.

When both the Gentiles and the Jews (together with their rulers) made ¹  an attempt to mistreat ²  them and stone them, ³ 

They had ¹  a sharp disagreement, ²  so that they parted company. Barnabas took along ³  Mark and sailed away to Cyprus, ⁴ 

They all began to weep loudly, ¹  and hugged ²  Paul and kissed him, ³ 

When he came to the steps, Paul ¹  had to be carried ²  by the soldiers because of the violence ³  of the mob,

When ¹  I returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, I fell into a trance ² 

When he said this, ¹  an argument ²  began ³  between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.

Now the soldiers’ plan was to kill the prisoners ¹  so that none of them would escape by swimming away. ² 

For in fact when we were with you, we were telling you in advance that we would suffer affliction, and so it has happened, as you well know. ¹ 

For if the message spoken through angels ¹  proved to be so firm that every violation ²  or disobedience received its just penalty,

Now ¹  when the Lamb ²  opened the seventh seal there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
