Around three o’clock ¹  Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” ² 

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, ¹  the God of our forefathers, ²  has glorified ³  his servant ⁴  Jesus, whom you handed over and rejected ⁵  in the presence of Pilate after he had decided ⁶  to release him.

with respect to Jesus from Nazareth, ¹  that ²  God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power. He ³  went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, ⁴  because God was with him. ⁵ 

But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong.

And what mutual agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are ¹  the temple of the living God, just as God said, “I will live in them ²  and will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” ³ 

So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

“Why does this man speak this way? He is blaspheming! ¹  Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? ¹  No one is good except God alone.

“Blessed ¹  be the Lord God of Israel, because he has come to help ²  and has redeemed ³  his people.

Jesus ¹  said to him, “Why do you call me good? ²  No one is good except God alone.

No one has ever seen God. The only one, ¹  himself God, who is in closest fellowship with ²  the Father, has made God ³  known. ⁴ 

God is spirit, ¹  and the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

We know that God has spoken to Moses! We do not know where this man ¹  comes from!”

But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will grant ¹  you.” ² 

But the things God foretold ¹  long ago through ²  all the prophets – that his Christ ³  would suffer – he has fulfilled in this way.

The God of our forefathers ¹  raised up Jesus, whom you seized and killed by hanging him on a tree. ² 

The ¹  patriarchs, because they were jealous of Joseph, sold ²  him into Egypt. But ³  God was with him,

The voice ¹  spoke to him again, a second time, “What God has made clean, you must not consider ²  ritually unclean!” ³ 

Then Peter started speaking: ¹  “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism in dealing with people, ² 

but ¹  God raised him up on the third day and caused him to be seen, ²
