When ¹  she poured this oil on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.

He strictly ordered that no one should know about this, ¹  and told them to give her something to eat.

He swore to her, ¹  “Whatever you ask I will give you, up to half my kingdom.” ² 

Then ¹  he said to her, “Because you said this, you may go. The demon has left your daughter.”

The second is: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ¹  There is no other commandment greater than these.”

I tell you the truth, ¹  this generation ²  will not pass away until all these things take place.

But some who were present indignantly said to one another, “Why this waste of expensive ¹  ointment?

It ¹  could have been sold for more than three hundred silver coins ²  and the money ³  given to the poor!” So ⁴  they spoke angrily to her.

But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why are you bothering her? She has done a good service for me.

So ¹  the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, ²  Mary, for you have found favor ³  with God!

So ¹  Mary stayed with Elizabeth ²  about three months ³  and then returned to her home.

Then ¹  he began to tell them, “Today ²  this scripture has been fulfilled even as you heard it being read.” ³ 

You gave me no kiss of greeting, ¹  but from the time I entered she has not stopped kissing my feet.

You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet ¹  with perfumed oil.

Then ¹  he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. ²  Go in peace.”

Her ¹  spirit returned, ²  and she got up immediately. Then ³  he told them to give her something to eat.

Heal ¹  the sick in that town ²  and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God ³  has come upon ⁴  you!’

But the Lord ¹  answered her, ²  “Martha, Martha, ³  you are worried and troubled ⁴  about many things,

for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment ¹  what you must say.” ² 

When ¹  Jesus saw her, he called her to him ²  and said, “Woman, ³  you are freed ⁴  from your infirmity.” ⁵
