The young advisers with whom Rehoboam ¹  had grown up said to him, “Say this to these people who have said to you, ‘Your father made us work hard, but now lighten our burden’ ²  – say this to them: ‘I am a lot harsher than my father! ³ 

But the father said to his slaves, ¹  ‘Hurry! Bring the best robe, ²  and put it on him! Put a ring on his finger ³  and sandals ⁴  on his feet!

Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his own hand and put it on Joseph’s. He clothed him with fine linen ¹  clothes and put a gold chain around his neck.

Then ¹  he bent over again and wrote on the ground.

Who has measured out the waters ¹  in the hollow of his hand, or carefully ²  measured the sky, ³  or carefully weighed ⁴  the soil of the earth, or weighed the mountains in a balance, or the hills on scales? ⁵

He protects ¹  all his bones; ²  not one of them is broken. ³ 

He looks down on the earth and it shakes; he touches the mountains and they start to smolder.

Therefore the palm of a hand was sent from him, and this writing was inscribed.

Then ¹  they attempted ²  again to seize him, but he escaped their clutches. ³ 

So the king removed his signet ring ¹  from his hand and gave it to Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, who was hostile toward the Jews.

Do not let anyone accuse or contend against anyone else: ¹  for my case is against you priests! ² 

For calamity, ¹  there is derision (according to the ideas of the fortunate ² ) – a fate ³  for those whose feet slip!

By his breath ¹  the skies became fair; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent. ² 

They destroy ¹  my path; they succeed in destroying me ²  without anyone assisting ³  them.

then ¹  let my arm fall from the shoulder, ²  let my arm be broken off at the socket. ³ 

You broke open the spring and the stream; ¹  you dried up perpetually flowing rivers. ² 

If I forget you, O Jerusalem, may my right hand be crippled! ¹ 

For they will be like ¹  an elegant ²  garland ³  on ⁴  your head, and like ⁵  pendants ⁶  around ⁷  your neck.
