The one who curses ¹  his father and his mother, his lamp ²  will be extinguished in the blackest ³  darkness.

The one who keeps the law ¹  is a discerning child, ²  but a companion of gluttons brings shame ³  to his parents. ⁴ 

There is a generation ¹  who curse their fathers and do not bless their mothers. ² 

Ham, the father of Canaan, ¹  saw his father’s nakedness ²  and told his two brothers who were outside.

Haran died in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldeans, ¹  while his father Terah was still alive. ²

Then Joseph brought in his father Jacob and presented him ¹  before Pharaoh. Jacob blessed ²  Pharaoh.

Then Joseph hugged his father’s face. ¹  He wept over him and kissed him.

Joseph lived in Egypt, along with his father’s family. ¹  Joseph lived 110 years.

and if he has no brothers, then you are to give his inheritance to his father’s brothers;

his father and mother must seize him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his city.

David was going back and forth ¹  from Saul in order to care for his father’s sheep in Bethlehem.

Saul retained David ¹  on that day and did not allow him to return to his father’s house.

Jonathan responded to his father Saul, “Why should he be put to death? What has he done?”
