The Lord delivers; ¹  you show favor to your people. ²  (Selah)

For you are the one who gives and sustains life. ¹ 

You sold ¹  your people for a pittance; ²  you did not ask a high price for them. ³ 

You have made your people experience hard times; ¹  you have made us drink intoxicating wine. ² 

O God, when you lead your people into battle, ¹  when you march through the desert, ²  (Selah)

I was ignorant ¹  and lacked insight; ²  I was as senseless as an animal before you. ³ 

You delivered ¹  your people by your strength ²  – the children of Jacob and Joseph. (Selah)

You led your people like a flock of sheep, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

They carefully plot ¹  against your people, and make plans to harm ²  the ones you cherish. ³ 

You pardoned ¹  the wrongdoing of your people; you forgave ²  all their sin. (Selah)

The Lord said to Jacob, “Return to the land of your fathers ¹  and to your relatives. I will be with you.” ² 

I will put a division ¹  between my people and your people. This sign will take place ²  tomorrow.”’”

You must not take vengeance or bear a grudge ¹  against the children of your people, but you must love your neighbor as yourself. ²  I am the Lord.

You may have the Sabbath produce ¹  of the land to eat – you, your male servant, your female servant, your hired worker, the resident foreigner who stays with you, ² 

Do not take interest or profit from him, ¹  but you must fear your God and your brother must live ²  with you.

“‘If your brother becomes impoverished with regard to you so that he sells himself to you, you must not subject him to slave service. ¹ 

And God came to Balaam and said, “Who are these men with you?”

They are your people, your valued property, ¹  whom you brought out with great strength and power. ² 

As for the Levites in your villages, you must not ignore them, for they have no allotment or inheritance along with you.

Indeed, he may live among you in any place he chooses, in whichever of your villages ¹  he prefers; you must not oppress him.
