Moab’s might will be crushed. Its power will be broken. ¹  I, the Lord, affirm it! ² 

Armies ¹  will be suddenly ²  swept away in defeat ³  before him; both they and a covenant leader ⁴  will be destroyed. ⁵ 

Although I trained and strengthened them, ¹  they plot evil against me!

They are your people, your valued property, ¹  whom you brought out with great strength and power. ² 

Therefore the Lord brought us out of Egypt with tremendous strength and power, ¹  as well as with great awe-inspiring signs and wonders.

Of Gad he said: Blessed be the one who enlarges Gad. Like a lioness he will dwell; he will tear at an arm – indeed, a scalp. ¹ 

The everlasting God is a refuge, and underneath you are his eternal arms; ¹  he has driven out enemies before you, and has said, “Destroy!”

Listen to the painful cries of the prisoners! ¹  Use your great strength to set free those condemned to die! ² 

Even Assyria has allied with them, lending its strength to the descendants of Lot. ¹  (Selah)

You crushed the Proud One ¹  and killed it; ²  with your strong arm you scattered your enemies.

Your arm is powerful, your hand strong, your right hand ¹  victorious. ² 

It will be as when one gathers the grain harvest, and his hand gleans the ear of grain. It will be like one gathering the ears of grain in the Valley of Rephaim.

Lord, be merciful to us! We wait for you. Give us strength each morning! ¹  Deliver us when distress comes. ² 

Like a shepherd he tends his flock; he gathers up the lambs with his arm; he carries them close to his heart; ¹  he leads the ewes along.

I looked, but there was no one to help; I was shocked because there was no one offering support. ¹  So my right arm accomplished deliverance; my raging anger drove me on. ² 

the one who made his majestic power available to Moses, ¹  who divided the water before them, gaining for himself a lasting reputation, ² 

In anger, in fury, and in wrath I myself will fight against you with my mighty power and great strength! ¹ 

You must turn your face toward the siege of Jerusalem with your arm bared and prophesy against it.

“‘See how each of the princes of Israel living within you has used his authority to shed blood. ¹ 

His forces ¹  will rise up and profane the fortified sanctuary, ²  stopping the daily sacrifice. In its place they will set up ³  the abomination that causes desolation.
