Another sharp division took place among the Jewish people ¹  because of these words.

Then came the feast of the Dedication ¹  in Jerusalem. ² 

For these things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled, “Not a bone of his will be broken.” ¹ 

This became known throughout all ¹  Joppa, and many believed in the Lord. ² 

So ¹  Peter ²  stayed many days in Joppa with a man named ³  Simon, a tanner. ⁴ 

Then ¹  a voice said ²  to him, “Get up, Peter; slaughter ³  and eat!”

Then ¹  there were flashes of lightning, roaring, ²  and crashes of thunder, and there was a tremendous earthquake – an earthquake unequaled since humanity ³  has been on the earth, so tremendous was that earthquake.

In the wilderness ¹  John the baptizer ²  began preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. ³

When he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.

For nothing is hidden except to be revealed, ¹  and nothing concealed except to be brought to light.

Those who had seen what had happened to the demon-possessed man reported it, and they also told about the pigs.
