Although it grieved the king, ¹  because of his oath and the dinner guests he commanded it to be given.

They said to him, “Why then did Moses command us to give a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her?” ¹ 

It ¹  could have been sold at a high price and the money ²  given to the poor!”

and they gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord commanded me.” ¹ 

What can a person give in exchange for his life?

And after taking the cup and giving thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it.

They offered him wine mixed with myrrh, ¹  but he did not take it.

the oath ¹  that he swore to our ancestor ²  Abraham. This oath grants ³ 

to give his people knowledge of salvation ¹  through the forgiveness ²  of their sins.

Give us each day our daily bread, ¹ 

But give from your heart to those in need, ¹  and ²  then everything will be clean for you. ³ 

Was no one found to turn back and give praise to God except this foreigner?” ¹ 

The Father loves the Son and has placed all things under his authority. ¹ 

and he has granted the Son ¹  authority to execute judgment, ²  because he is the Son of Man.

So they said to him, “Sir, ¹  give us this bread all the time!”

“Why wasn’t this oil sold for three hundred silver coins ¹  and the money ²  given to the poor?”

For I have given you an example ¹  – you should do just as I have done for you.

All this took ¹  about four hundred fifty years. After this ²  he gave them judges until the time of ³  Samuel the prophet.

Therefore he also says in another psalm, ¹  ‘You will not permit your Holy One ²  to experience ³  decay.’ ⁴
