When ¹  I hear a reproof that dishonors ²  me, then my understanding ³  prompts me to answer. ⁴ 

Then a breath of air ¹  passes ²  by my face; it makes ³  the hair of my flesh stand up.

“How long will you speak these things, ¹  seeing ²  that the words of your mouth are like a great ³  wind? ⁴ 

for while ¹  my spirit ²  is still in me, and the breath from God is in my nostrils,

each one is so close to the next ¹  that no air can come between them.

Let me again experience the joy of your deliverance! Sustain me by giving me the desire to obey! ¹ 

A cheerful heart ¹  brings good healing, ²  but a crushed spirit ³  dries up the bones. ⁴ 

A person’s spirit ¹  sustains him through sickness – but who can bear ²  a crushed spirit? ³ 

Like cloudy skies and wind that produce no rain, ¹  so is the one who boasts ²  of a gift not given. ³ 

The Lord’s spirit took control of ¹  Gideon. He blew a trumpet, ²  summoning the Abiezrites to follow him. ³ 

Now the Spirit of the Lord had turned away from Saul, and an evil spirit ¹  from the Lord tormented him.

in whose hand ¹  is the life ²  of every creature and the breath of all the human race. ³ 

But now, the sun ¹  cannot be looked at ²  – it is bright in the skies – after a wind passed and swept the clouds away. ³ 

May the Lord rain down ¹  burning coals ²  and brimstone ³  on the wicked! A whirlwind is what they deserve! ⁴ 

Create for me a pure heart, O God! ¹  Renew a resolute spirit within me! ² 

Do not reject me! ¹  Do not take your Holy Spirit ²  away from me! ³ 

You will winnow them and the wind will blow them away; the wind will scatter them. You will rejoice in the Lord; you will boast in the Holy One of Israel.

A wind lifted me up and carried me away. I went bitterly, ¹  my spirit full of fury, and the hand of the Lord rested powerfully ²  on me.

Now ¹  the earth ²  was without shape and empty, ³  and darkness ⁴  was over the surface of the watery deep, ⁵  but the Spirit of God ⁶  was moving ⁷  over the surface ⁸  of the water. ⁹ 

He entrusted them to ¹  his servants, who divided them into herds. ²  He told his servants, “Pass over before me, and keep some distance between one herd and the next.”
