They die ¹  in their youth, and their life ends among the male cultic prostitutes. ² 

by saving their lives from death ¹  and sustaining them during times of famine. ² 

(the ransom price for a human life ¹  is too high, and people go to their final destiny), ² 

They were hungry and thirsty; they fainted from exhaustion. ¹ 

From harm and violence he will defend them; ¹  he will value their lives. ² 

They lost their appetite for all food, ¹  and they drew near the gates of death.

ק (Qof) I called for my lovers, ¹  but they had deceived me. My priests and my elders perished in the city. Truly they had ²  searched for food to ³  keep themselves ⁴  alive. ⁵ 

ל (Lamed) Children ¹  say to their mothers, ²  “Where are food and drink?” ³  They faint ⁴  like a wounded warrior in the city squares. They die slowly ⁵  in their mothers’ arms. ⁶ 

Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, ¹  and Job, were in it, they would save only their own lives by their righteousness, declares the sovereign Lord.

Next I eradicated the three shepherds in one month, ¹  for I ran out of patience with them and, indeed, they detested me as well.

The land will be abandoned by them ¹  in order that it may make up for ²  its Sabbaths while it is made desolate ³  without them, ⁴  and they will make up for their iniquity because ⁵  they have rejected my regulations and have abhorred ⁶  my statutes.
