When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you must certainly die,’ ¹  and you do not warn ²  the wicked about his behavior, ³  the wicked man will die for his iniquity, but I will hold you accountable for his death. ⁴ 

O Lord, how long will the wicked, how long will the wicked celebrate? ¹ 

The Righteous One ¹  considers ²  the house ³  of the wicked; he overthrows the wicked to their ruin. ⁴ 

When the wicked ¹  see this, they will worry; they will grind their teeth in frustration ²  and melt away; the desire of the wicked will perish. ³ 

Many will be purified, made clean, and refined, but the wicked will go on being wicked. None of the wicked will understand, though the wise will understand.

Those who hate you ¹  will be clothed with shame, ²  and the tent of the wicked will be no more.”

They reap fodder ¹  in the field, and glean ²  in the vineyard of the wicked.

“May my enemy be like the wicked, ¹  my adversary ²  like the unrighteous. ³ 

who says to a king, ¹  ‘Worthless man’ ²  and to nobles, ‘Wicked men,’

He strikes them for their wickedness, ¹  in a place where people can see, ² 

He does not allow the wicked to live, ¹  but he gives justice to the poor.

But now you are preoccupied with the judgment due the wicked, judgment and justice take hold of you.

that it might seize the corners of the earth, ¹  and shake the wicked out of it?

Then from the wicked the light is withheld, and the arm raised in violence ¹  is broken. ² 

Evil men plot against the godly ¹  and viciously attack them. ² 

The little bit that a godly man owns is better than the wealth of many evil men, ¹ 

Evil men set an ambush for the godly and try to kill them. ¹ 

I have seen ruthless evil men ¹  growing in influence, like a green tree grows in its native soil. ² 

Sinful rebels are totally destroyed; ¹  evil men have no future. ² 

For I envied those who are proud, as I observed ¹  the prosperity ²  of the wicked.
