He made the moon to mark the months, ¹  and the sun sets according to a regular schedule. ² 

The sun will not harm you by day, or the moon by night. ¹ 

The sun and moon are darkened; the stars withhold ¹  their brightness.

if I looked at the sun ¹  when it was shining, and the moon advancing as a precious thing,

People will fear ¹  you ²  as long as the sun and moon remain in the sky, for generation after generation. ³ 

During his days the godly will flourish; ¹  peace will prevail as long as the moon remains in the sky. ² 

it will remain stable, like the moon, ¹  his throne will endure like the skies.” ²  (Selah)

the moon and stars to rule by night, for his loyal love endures,

Praise him, O sun and moon! Praise him, all you shiny stars! ¹ 

If even the moon is not bright, and the stars are not pure as far as he is concerned, ¹ 

When I look up at the heavens, which your fingers made, and see the moon and the stars, which you set in place, ¹ 

before the sun and the light ¹  of the moon and the stars grow dark, and the clouds disappear ²  after the rain;

The earth quakes ¹  before them; ²  the sky reverberates. ³  The sun and the moon grow dark; the stars refuse to shine. ⁴ 

The sunlight will be turned to darkness and the moon to the color of blood, ¹  before the day of the Lord comes – that great and terrible day!

The sun and moon stand still in their courses; ¹  the flash of your arrows drives them away, ²  the bright light of your lightning-quick spear. ³ 

by serving other gods and worshiping them – the sun, ¹  moon, or any other heavenly bodies which I have not permitted you to worship. ² 

Indeed the stars in the sky and their constellations no longer give out their light; ¹  the sun is darkened as soon as it rises, and the moon does not shine. ² 

When I extinguish you, I will cover the sky; I will darken its stars. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not shine. ¹ 

Then he had another dream, ¹  and told it to his brothers. “Look,” ²  he said. “I had another dream. The sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”

When you look up ¹  to the sky ²  and see the sun, moon, and stars – the whole heavenly creation ³  – you must not be seduced to worship and serve them, ⁴  for the Lord your God has assigned ⁵  them to all the people ⁶  of the world. ⁷
