Do not extinguish the Spirit.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is present, ¹  there is freedom.

(because they said, “He has an unclean spirit” ¹ ).

Now there are different gifts, but the same Spirit.

and said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” ¹  They replied, ²  “No, we have not even ³  heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

For you did not receive the spirit of slavery leading again to fear, ¹  but you received the Spirit of adoption, ²  by whom ³  we cry, “Abba, Father.”

Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things that are freely given to us by God.

By this ¹  you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses ²  Jesus as the Christ ³  who has come in the flesh is from God,

Then Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and gave up his spirit.

The Spirit immediately drove him into the wilderness.

(For Jesus ¹  had said to him, “Come out of that man, you unclean spirit!”) ² 

and my spirit has begun to rejoice ¹  in God my Savior,

But they were startled and terrified, thinking ¹  they saw a ghost. ² 

And after he said this, he breathed on them and said, ¹  “Receive the Holy Spirit. ² 

These two ¹  went down and prayed for them so that they would receive the Holy Spirit.

Then Peter and John placed their hands on the Samaritans, ¹  and they received the Holy Spirit. ² 

The Spirit himself bears witness to ¹  our spirit that we are God’s children.

But the one united with ¹  the Lord is one spirit with him. ² 

For they refreshed my spirit and yours. So then, recognize people like this.

But just as at that time the one born by natural descent ¹  persecuted the one born according to the Spirit, ²  so it is now.
