so that times of refreshing ¹  may come from the presence of the Lord, ²  and so that he may send the Messiah ³  appointed ⁴  for you – that is, Jesus.

For we do not proclaim ¹  ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves ²  for Jesus’ sake.

Then ¹  they brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks ²  on the colt, ³  and had Jesus get on ⁴  it.

When ¹  they looked up, all they saw was Jesus alone.

They ¹  planned to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.

When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and bowed down before him.

Suddenly when they looked around, they saw no one with them any more except Jesus.

He threw off his cloak, jumped up, and came to Jesus.

Pilate addressed them once again because he wanted ¹  to release Jesus.

Now because Jesus was doing these things ¹  on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders ²  began persecuting ³  him.

for on account of him many of the Jewish people from Jerusalem ¹  were going away and believing in Jesus.

Then Jesus ¹  asked them again, “Who are you looking for?” And they said, “Jesus the Nazarene.”

Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged severely. ¹ 

Then Pilate ¹  handed him over ²  to them to be crucified.So they took Jesus,

There they ¹  crucified ²  him along with two others, ³  one on each side, with Jesus in the middle.

This Jesus God raised up, and we are all witnesses of it. ¹ 

From the descendants ¹  of this man ²  God brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, just as he promised. ³ 

Grace be ¹  with all of those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love. ² 

Therefore, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, ¹  continue to live your lives ²  in him,

Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David; ¹  such is my gospel, ²
