But if you do not believe what Moses ¹  wrote, how will you believe my words?”

And so, ¹  since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.” ² 

The lord had compassion on that slave and released him, and forgave him the debt.

They ¹  heaped insults ²  on him, saying, ³  “You are his disciple! ⁴  We are disciples of Moses!

They ¹  brought him first to Annas, for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high priest that year. ² 

Every person ¹  who does not obey that prophet will be destroyed and thus removed ²  from the people.’ ³ 

and they will come to their senses and escape the devil’s trap where they are held captive ¹  to do his will. ² 

When the people ¹  there recognized him, they sent word into all the surrounding area, and they brought all their sick to him.

then the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not foresee,

But those who are regarded as worthy to share in ¹  that age and in the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage. ² 

You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ ¹  but rather, ‘I have been sent before him.’

Then one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said, ¹  “You know nothing at all!

(Now he did not say this on his own, ¹  but because he was high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the Jewish nation, ² 

Since I could not see because of ¹  the brilliance ²  of that light, I came to Damascus led by the hand of ³  those who were with me.

For you know the grace ¹  of our Lord Jesus Christ, that although he was rich, he became poor for your sakes, so that you by his poverty could become rich.

For we did not follow cleverly concocted fables when we made known to you the power and return ¹  of our Lord Jesus Christ; ²  no, ³  we were ⁴  eyewitnesses of his ⁵  grandeur. ⁶ 

Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there, so ¹  the last state of that person ²  is worse than the first.” ³ 

then the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not foresee, and will cut him in two, ¹  and assign him a place with the unfaithful. ² 

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, ¹  the God of our forefathers, ²  has glorified ³  his servant ⁴  Jesus, whom you handed over and rejected ⁵  in the presence of Pilate after he had decided ⁶  to release him.

Then the man who was possessed by ¹  the evil spirit jumped on ²  them and beat them all into submission. ³  He prevailed ⁴  against them so that they fled from that house naked and wounded.
