When evening came, Jesus and his disciples ¹  went out of the city.

Then ¹  comes the end, ²  when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father, when he has brought to an end all rule and all authority and power.

Now when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”

So also you, when you see these things happening, know ¹  that he is near, right at the door.

And when you see the south wind ¹  blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,’ and there is.

But when you host an elaborate meal, ¹  invite the poor, the crippled, ²  the lame, and ³  the blind. ⁴ 

When they sprout leaves, you see ¹  for yourselves and know that summer is now near.

Then ¹  he said, “Jesus, remember me ²  when you come in ³  your kingdom.”

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” ¹ 

I have told you now before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe. ¹ 

And this is my covenant with them, ¹  when I take away their sins.” ² 

but when what is perfect ¹  comes, the partial will be set aside.

But I will come to you after I have gone through Macedonia – for I will be going through Macedonia –

We are also ready to punish every act of disobedience, ¹  whenever your obedience is complete.

But do not accept younger widows on the list, ¹  because their passions may lead them away from Christ ²  and they will desire to marry,

My brothers and sisters, ¹  consider it nothing but joy ²  when you fall into all sorts of trials,

“Blessed are you when people ¹  hate you, and when they exclude you and insult you and reject you as evil ²  on account of the Son of Man!

But when you are invited, go and take the least important place, so that when your host ¹  approaches he will say to you, ‘Friend, move up here to a better place.’ ²  Then you will be honored in the presence of all who share the meal with you.

When a woman gives birth, she has distress ¹  because her time ²  has come, but when her child is born, she no longer remembers the suffering because of her joy that a human being ³  has been born into the world. ⁴ 

So also you, when you see all these things, know ¹  that he is near, right at the door.
